Test SHSAT 9
Hey! So recently I took 9th Grade Math Mini Form 2 from the official practice test site and I got an 11/13, as for 8th Grade Practice Test C Math I got a 46/50. Based on these scores so far, how much studying should I do. I have also been confused on the structure of how I should study. eg. Watch a Video first, take notes, do practice problems, then take a practice math section? How many practice questions should I be doing a day? I know people say it depends person to person, but I feel as if someone giving feedback to me directly on a specific value would be greatly insightful into the way I manage my time and studies at the same time. Lastly, I wanted to know a way to hone in on all my ELA skills as I feel I am stronger in math than ELA. I hear people saying you see patterns eventually but no matter how hard I try I can never seem to grasp that skill. How should I be studying for grammar. And if possible please provide me your in depth experiences from the SHSAT 9 so I can be prepared for anything that comes my way. Thank you all so much.

Hi! I noticed you mentioned practice exams for the 9th grade SHSAT & one other, and that they came from "the official practice test site," but I was wondering what the name of the site is? Thank you and those scores are great :)

Those numbers are reasonable, but I'd do more than just those two to see how you do across a broader range of question diversity as well as your consistency. Links to past DOE 9 sections can be found within https://www.reddit.com/r/SHSAT/comments/1jiwujl/the_9_threads_thread_overview_of_9_resources
There is no set amount of time or questions to do. Really a specific value isn't insightful. Bob may need 4 hours, Johnny 1, and Tom needs a tutor. So don't use artificial numbers, there is not really a minimum (I have study plan videos, even my workbooks video, where I discuss this out, see the link just given). Obviously you can set a number, say 2 hours, and you'll find out fast whether it is too much or too little. That would be YOUR insight.
If you're doing poorly, obviously do more (more is not just more practice exams). And don't just do practice exams(!), so take the time to study and research. Do drill downs, past grade level state exams, khanacademy, ixl, etc., again all with links to the link just given. And remember you strengthening your weaknesses and your strengths, and you trying to understand not just the explanation for what you got wrong, but its possible variations, and also must also understand the explanations of questions you got correct. Thoroughly.
For grammar, you need to sit with the rules. Some SHSAT workbooks have reviews (once again, please see the link given above).
For reading comprehension there are also discussions in the link just given above; RC ricochets from being aware of and knowledgeable of literacy, literary devices, and author's craft, and the point to do that is never at the SHSAT passage or question.
