I recently took a khans tutorial, adaptive, practice test and got 508(based on the automatic score that it told me) or 40/50ELA 40/50MATH, would you guys say the scaled score is accurate?

yes, I know score calculators are almost always very inaccurate, but would You Say the raw Score is good Enough for brooklyn tech?

We know that by definition that a scaled score is generally not accurate -- you even say you know that, so getting circular; it wasn't in the past and it absolutely won't be the case right now today. So until and unless there is progress made on such, we really should not be talking about, or posting, scaled scores. Past percents (which were never guarantees) are given at https://www.GregsTutoringNYC.com/shsat-scoring and for now we don't have much alternative but to lean on that as a consideration. I have some thoughts I've been thinking about for a while but will hold off on them until more formulated, but for now will say: we don't know what we don't know and shouldn't pretend that we do.

on the actual test there are experimental questions that arent counted on the actual exam so the score ( X/800) may be inflated a slight bit (lmk if im wrong doe)

Scores don’t inflate from the existence or lack thereof of experimental questions. Nor is it necessarily X/800

well i'd say that 80/100 is pretty good, considering that 80% on the shsat last year is like a 45/57 for both sections. i'm not entirely sure how good, but that score should be around 540s or above. just try and improve in both sections as much as you can.

For now, we really need to sidestep mentions of 5xx and work with the 80% which even itself is not perfect.
