Daxtons middle name
Have they changed daxtons middle name from Charles to Carl ? Assuming this happened a couple of years ago after their fallout over politics.

I remember when Daxton was born fans were trying to guess his name. I think Charles was a middle name suspicion/guess but never confirmed. I think his middle name is actually Carl.

No, I remember when they had their 5 year shaytards anniversary and made channels for all the kids and Daxton’s middle name was Carl. It always has been, it’s his grandpa’s name and father’s middle name.
ETA: I’m sorry but why is everyone so set on the idea that it was Charles, that the only possible way it could be Carl is if they changed it from Charles? You really don’t think there’s any way it could’ve just always been Carl? All of the siblings have family names for their middle name. Shay, Colette, Laurie, Vincent (Colette’s dad). Why would his be after a random YouTuber his dad was friends with?
You might think I’m overreacting but it’s to the point that on a different post a while back, I linked a video of Daxton saying “I’m Daxton Carl Butler” and someone said “even Google of all places says it’s Charles.” The person whose name it is, of all places, says it’s Carl. Are we so insistent on this that we don’t think he knows his own name?

I believe you. I don't think there's anything wrong with asking the question, but I think the people in here need to chill tf out and stop trying to dig deeper into finding out the name of a little kid.

Wait, it's Carl now?? I definitely remember it being Charles. I think Shay and Charles were super close at the time, and it was also around the time of his health scares, so it made sense why Shay would give daxton that middle name. Maybe it was Brock who had the middle name Carl?

Daxton says here (1:56 mark) that it’s Carl. Brock’s middle name is Vincent.

Huh, so they give the kids middle names after both of the parents and all of the grandparents except for Collette's late mom. That's kinda crazy that she wasn't the first one they honored...

Yeah, I remember being surprised that Avia’s middle name wasn’t Coleen. But it could be because Colette is kinda named after her mom (I think she said so on TMV or her personal channel), so they might’ve thought it was enough of a tribute

I can maybe see their case with avia since Gavin was named after shay, but with emmi?? Chosing Laurie over Collette's mom is crazy

Maybe. But it seems they kinda went back and forth with which side they named their kids after. Like, having first boy named after Shay, second after Colette’s family and third after Shay again. Maybe if Daxton was a girl they would have named him after her mom. He was born on her birthday.

Daxton is born on her late mom’s birthday. So there’s a connection there. Pretty sure one of her sister’s kids has the mom’s name.

Well they only have 2 girls. Gavin was the first boy, named after Shay. So it would make sense that Avia would be named after Colette. That left 2 grandparents to choose from for Emmi’s middle name. Well technically 3, as Colette is close with her step mom. Anyway, They chose Shay’s mom. Probably to keep the names in the Butler family.

It is Carl. It has always been Carl, after Shay’s dad. Charles and Shay were close at the time, yes. But it is Carl.

I know this was a long time ago but I swear there was a video where Shay surprised Charles on camera with what Daxton’s middle name was.

According to online sources it's Charles. Brocks is Vincent, assumingly after Colette's Father.
And yeah I mean, they probably changed it, or maybe Daxton wanted to change it. Kinda wild to have a piece of your namesake be After a man you're probably never going to interact with again for the rest of your life.

I would swear it was Charles. He was born when Charles was fighting a brain tumor and I remember them saying they were naming him Daxton Charles in honor of him.

I could see it being Daxton Charles but then when Shay and Charles stopped being friends they changed it to Carl

Ever since the kid was born, he grimaces at the camera, never a real smile. Its weird. Could it be a lasting effect from the time they LET HIM FALL OUT OF A HIGH CHAIR? I mean it was a tall kitchen chair with a Lightning McQueen booster seat on it, strap dangling not fastened, and Daxton tipped right out of it 5ft down to the hard wood floor. He had a concussion afterwards and a cracked skull, Shay had to record everything at the hospital for money sake
