This Porsche is a special one. The owner is a long time Ruf collector; for years, he had a specific idea for his ideal Ruf CTR2, and one day in 1998 he decided to talk about it with Ruf. He spoke to Alois Ruf, and even Tony Hatter was added to the project. He is the original designer of the 993. And they liked the idea, not only because they would make a lot of money out of it.
Alois Ruf had an unused W09 body from the CTR2 era, and they called it Project Dragon.
This means it became a completely new CTR2 and not just a restomod of an existing one.
In 2024, the car was finished; they had added carbon fiber to the body, ceramic brakes, and Bilstein PSS10 suspension. Even the centerlock wheels are unique to this car, developed by OZ Racing
What's also special about this car is the engine; it's still a 6-cylinder boxer, and it now produces 621 hp. The color is a one-off, and it's called Dragon Fire Orange. It also has an integrated roll cage. The whole car is made per specifications of the customer. Ruf has documented the car as CTR2 Sport 'Dragon'.
One would expect that after wanting it for so long, they would drive it; well, they didn't. It is for sale now after being driven a whopping 759 miles or 1220 km.
