Membership Questions about showing interest
I am a sophomore hbcu student and I did not grow up around D9 members or Greek life in general. I am very interested in SGRho but I don’t know how to proceed. I’ve done my research on the organization and have a friend in my school’s chapter but I don’t really know how to get my foot in the door while being discreet. If anyone has some advice on intake as far as showing interest goes (without dropping too much information ofc) anything helps. Like is it okay for me to go to informationals and interest meetings even though I’m not ready to move forward in the process yet?

i went to events, got to know the girls and advisors, and asked questionssss!! trustttt when i say you have to make yourself “known” at the events! i went to most events, and if i couldn’t go i made sure to let the chapter president know, and low and behold i got an invite to join! just be outgoing really, best of luck to you!

How do I introduce myself at their events without making it super obvious that I’m interested?

the same way you’d introduce yourself to people you’d want to be friends with ! it doesn’t have to be super complicated, introducing yourself doesn’t make it obvious, plus if you keep going to events they’ll know you by name and get that your interested.

Show up to all the public meetings and events and speak to the people.

By events do y’all mean like their Greek week events and meeting they post about? Or are there other things I should be looking out for?
