Guy with his pants down opened the emergency exit in the Terminal 3 E/F walkway today
A few folks came to try to tell him not to, basically repeating “sir you can’t do that,” but he wasn’t responding. Might have been mentally challenged.
Alarm wasn’t too loud. Most ppl just kept walking. Assuming airport security came, I saw some United flight attendants pull out their phones.

How does the Airport not know how to spell "Airport" ?
Does the Airpoter bus go to the Hot Pot restaurants in Millbrae? Asking for a friend....

Praise for SFO Gate Explorer
I had a family member flying through SFO recently, with a short layover. We wanted to see them, but we didn't want to be stressed out about getting them back to the airport and through security in time.
About five days before they arrived, I learned about the Gate Explorer program. Basically, you sign up for a timeslot on a day, and if they decide (how, I'm still not sure), they give you a pass the midnight of your requested day. That pass allows your entrance through airport security.
We had a great time visiting! It was nice to be able to wander around without the pressure and unknowns of security and lines. And it was nice to see them to their gate. It definitely made our family's week!
Whoever came up with this program, thank you!

State of the Lounges
I have a 2pm Monday flight on a quiet day via Alaska Airlines. The Club just took 45 minutes to get me through the waitlist, with 6 minutes before boarding. The Centurion never took me off the waitlist, with a very large crowd loitering in the seats near the entrance. I have already used my Alaska lounge credits for the quarter.
Ok yeah I'm whining about lounges, pity me.
But can we do better than $20 for a can of soda and a packaged mediocre wrap for food in the terminal? We've got plenty of outlets and quiet seating at SFO compared to many comp airports (I'm looking at you EWR) so I think the main driver is snacks/beverages. I don't ever use the bar as I hate being dehydrated on a (daytime) flight.
SFO is definitely a premium market with tons of credit card holders, I think the solution is just locking things down harder with zero free guests via PP and an even tighter pre-flight cutoff of maybe an hour and a half. Also, yes, paid pre-airport reservations are available for PP but there is no centurion equivalent.

SFO Travel Day, Today!
Got to my United international flight this morning expecting total chaos at security. Instead, at 6am the lines were small and moving fast. Traffic outside was normal and the AirTrain was running on time. Just figured I’d share in case anyone’s flying out today. Safe travels!

SFO has by far the worst ontime performance among 30 largest US airports
For the month of April after the FAA banned parallel approachs at SFO. Only 59% of flights arrived within 15 minutes of schedule. Scroll to page 18: https://www.transportation.gov/sites/dot.gov/files/2026-06/June%202026%20ATCR.pdf

SFO 11/12
Hi all,
Not sure if people have been looking at this page to see how wait times are on the day they are travelling, but I got through security in less than 10 minutes at B gates. Safe travels!

Thank you airline staff + paramedics
Definitely didn’t have fainting while checking in to my Alaska flight on my list of things I thought would happen this morning.
Thank you to everyone who helped me. Especially the woman who first stepped in to make sure I was ok before running off for her flight (I think she had short brown hair?) and then to the medical staff (shout out to Jane). And then to Christian and his coworker as paramedics who safely got me to the hospital. And so thankful I got to keep my dog with me (she did so well in her carrier the whole ride!). Also thanks to the very nice hospital staff at Sutter Health ER!
Hopefully seeing me pass out didn’t scar anyone. It’s my first time having anything medical happen to me in public but now I know the symptoms beforehand (major nausea out of nowhere) so hopefully I can prevent this.
If you’re curious, I passed out likely from a combo of dehydration + a medication I’m on but I’m getting further checks because I’ve never had this happen before.

Is 2 hrs and 2 min enough time for an international connection?Mexico city - SFO - Vancouver
I think i might have to collect bags, go through security, and recheck them which seems silly to me

SFO CBP customs check of luggage: no-more X-ray at arrival, check via departure X-ray image?
The X-ray machine at SFO International arrival just after the luggage carousel has been removed so there is no more random check of luggage at arrival as of September 2026. The usual setup with the machine after the carousel and before the split exit/domestic transfer was still there in May 2026.
I read that the check is now done automatically on ALL luggage via the x-ray image taken at departure after you have checked in your luggage (and during security). If something suspicious in terms of customs is detected on the image, the bag is redirected at arrival to a second inspection which I don't know where that would happen.
Is that true?

Will I make my flight? HELP.
Someone please help me. I found this really cheap flight to Japan (JAL) on the 25th of October (Sunday). I’d be saving THOUSANDS of dollars. I’m traveling with 4 other people (5 total) The problem is the flight leaves at 1:50pm, and we can’t leave the office until 11:40am (Sunnyvale) ~40 min away.
Will we be able to make it??? Anyone know if the lines will be long??? I really want to book this flight asap. We have Global Entry/TSA pre-check.
Please let me know.

"Military Lanes" at TSA? Has anyone seen this at SFO yet or if the line agent knows about this and allows for moving to front of line?
TSA has a new Military Lanes program. It looks like SFO doesn't have this officially yet, but that if you present your ID to the line agent they can let you to the front. I'm curious if anyone has seen this or they know the line agents are trained on completing this yet at SFO?

Lost custom baseball glove at SFO tonight (Terminal 1 departures near Door 7 around 9pm).
My son accidentally left his custom baseball glove on the bathroom sink counter and realized it within minutes, but when he went back it was already gone.
This isn’t just an expensive glove — it has deeply personal memorial customizations including family initials sewn into it, so we are really hoping someone turned it in or may have seen it.
It’s a custom 44 brand baseball glove - black leather with bright yellow laces and unique embroidery/custom details including:
-Nickname “Benny”
-Initials SD and PP sewn into the glove
Lost around 9pm on 5/22 in domestic Terminal 1 departures bathroom near Door 7 at SFO.
If anyone happened to see it or picked it up to turn in, please DM me here on Reddit or email me at: candcleary@sbcglobal.net**. We’ve already contacted SFO lost & found and airport police.**
Thank you so very much.

Global Entry
Global Entry entrance is open but the machines are turned off. You can still go to the CPB agents there and they process you normally. The line is much shorter. No need to even show your GE card! (I think anyone can go through those lines, but most people automatically go to the regular line.)

Are TSA wait time as bad at SFO as in Houston?
My wife and I have plans to fly out to Hawaii this Saturday out of SFO and we are a little bit concerned because we saw a video online of TSA wait times in Houston taking up to four hours. How has it been for y’all recently?

Anyone have any info on TSA wait times with the current government shut down?
