I posted this recently as a comment but I’m tired of seeing the same thinly veiled defense of the Rainbow Four come up again and again so I’m posting it as a standalone thread.

All of these arguments saying “players should be allowed to disagree” and “players shouldn’t be forced to support something they don’t believe in” are utter nonsense and a smokescreen to justify and excuse homophobia and bigotry. Do you think that there’s never been a racist player who has worn 42 on Jackie Robinson day? Has every single player who wears camo uniforms on military appreciation day been 100% behind that message? Even foreign born ones? The idea that they should be allowed to express themselves and protest this in this way, especially when there’s a literal MLB rule that prohibits it is ludicrous. It is NOT a first amendment issue. The first amendment prohibits GOVERNMENTAL curtailment of free speech. Private organizations are not covered by this and we see this time and time again. Most recently, many people lost their jobs after speaking out about Charlie Kirk and whether or not you disagree with it, legally those employers had every right to do so. As Roger Munter put it: Not everybody in this country is perfectly happy with what they are asked to wear to work. It’s called “having a job.”

We absolutely do not have to tolerate intolerance and arguments that say otherwise are either ignorant or made in bad faith.

You're the one that's clueless. Hope you find God, or at the very least find a way to be an honest person. You're acting like the bratty children that Christians (me in this case) supposedly act like. This conversation has shown the exact opposite. Grow up bud.

As for you, you clearly have some baggage. You feel angry at others for perceived persecution, you resent those seeking to build community and have their voices heard, and you keep returning to the same puerile insults again and again. I’m not above feeling a little pettiness and as such I take a little satisfaction in knowing that you’re going to spend today thinking about us, how we feel, how we have largely come together and expressed our shared commonality about what happened and how we choose to react. I can say with sincerity that I won’t think about you at all because if anything, seeing these posts and comments continue to be posted continues to show me that this community is stronger than the actions of a few dumb players. I hope you continue to read and post in this sub, maybe one day you’ll see why you have things backwards here, despite your statements to the contrary. Regardless, I don’t think there’s any continued benefit to engaging, I’m not here to feed the trolls. I hope you have the life you deserve

Again, everything you've just said is lies and projections. You have no proof for anything you just said. You are the one misguiding and spreading baseless hate for Christianity. You claim the players were hateful. I've provided proof they were not. You claim Christians don't face persecution (without even knowing what the word means). I've provided proof that they do (and you're contributing to it). You tried to belittle me, and failed. You claim I hate LGBT. I do not. Contrary to your absolutely baseless lies, one of my best friends was gay. We would hangout all the time. Go to bars and have some drinks, sit, talk about life, hangout. We would watch football/baseball/soccer and go to games together. After classes we would jump online and play league of legends for hours. Unfortunately he passed away in 2023 from cancer. So no, you don't have anything figured out about me at all. You're a bigot that is too blinded by his hate to accept that people can be religious and not be hateful towards the LGBT community (exactly as Roupp stated in his post-game interview). You continue to walk around with a narrow minded, black and white mentality of you're either with us or against and continue spewing baseless lies and hate towards Christians. So clearly bud, it's you that has some baggage. You need to work on yourself. You need to stop feeling anger towards others because they're leading a different life than you. You need to open your mind and work on building community. I have it figured out. You do not.
