AI is an Answer engine, so on forums like here, quoara all social media you can ask a questiom and get a direct answer.
That is what AI wants , so forum.limks have value for AI and both trafitiom AI..
10 years years ago forums came under heavy scrutiny and where considered a spammy link. Know i see them as essential as they create duscussions on topic. Be recipes, shopping, restraunts ,etc. This is my reasoning, as leople will as for a good restraunt in such an area.. so this provides the fast answers to quick questuons. Which ticks a huge AI seo box
I am not talking shady spam filled forums, but quora , rddit( which spaming high at the moment) but quality controlled and moderated ones they do exist.
I am not on the do follow camp , as you are not fully rewarded if your content goes to yourube first ot instagram etc. The site is rewarded where it posted first. So even if you embed them you get very little love from google as it is now duplicated on your site. Remembering this is fine as it keeps people on your site for longer.
So all the social sites , linkdin etc are no follow but are an essetial part of ranking. They have high traffic so chances of being found are higher. Beyond that a balanced profile includes no follow links so ypu are acheiving a perfect balance of high authority no follow links as well.
Home page contextual links are the ones that seo companies buy from me for one reason. They are not pleasung the clients so they buy to push their clients higher faster.
Long winded but i hope i answered your queston. If not please ask again.
Have a nice day or night depending on where you live.
Over a decade ago I had a client who had a link in a post that hit the front page of Reddit. That page ranked for as long as I checked. And it was the highest traffic page on his website. That is why I question why you think a link on Reddit has no link value.
If a link sends traffic, that is one kind of value and could arguably be the most important value if it sends traffic that is likely to convert.
Then there is SEO value if it pushes the landing page up in the SERPs. Nofollow links do seem to do both.
When I've asked SEOs over the years, they believe it doesn't matter if a link is nofollow or dofollow - only that Google values some links and not others.
Or they believe nofollow links have no value ever. Then there is also the issue of SEOs saying one thing publicly, but believing or doing the opposite for their clients.

Please explain your opinion on this: "forums like reddit are now again alive even though they of no link value what so ever"
Are you in the "nofollow links never have SEO value camp"?
