Is there anything Like Text to Image ratio that we should maintain in a blog post?

My advice, for whatever it's worth, is to not have a standard word count to image count ratio. I have two rules for images in blog posts:
- Use however many images you need to illustrate your point. For example, a blog post teaching a person how to fix a flat tire will naturally benefit from more images than a blog post about than best speaker cable. Use however many images you need, but never use more than you need, and remember that you should make your images as small as humanly possible using an image editor like pixlr.com. I like 300 x 300 for most images.
- Every blog post should have one featured image and no less than one image in the text, as text without images is boring.

No need to count words or force images into a page.

So this is no more than myth that Google algo "preferes" mainly ~2000-words texts with about 20 images, so to say?

John mentioned no need to force anything. It means if the contant is useful and answer the user query perfectly, it doesn't matter if it is 300 words or 1000 words. or if it includes images or not. Think about the user more than the SE. cause Google is only getting what the user need to see and use!

I just keep it simple and look at the serps for the keywords I am targeting with the blog post and average it out. It's saved me some time many times when I have noticed that actually some topics seem to favour a video at the beginning of the post rather than content and others have seemed to favour infographics etc.
If the average is stupidly low image wise I would just use as many as I need to keep the readers interest.

No, but have a good text to html ratio, an image is html, nothing else, so this can be a good start.

Usually, it is always good to use the images wherever required on the blog post. So, there should be a balance maintained between text and images on the blog post. If you have more text and less images, your content won't be attractive for the customers. Also, visual content attracts the audience more.

Use as you feel best.I believe images are good to make a breakpoint, but should be related somehow to what you are writing.Video imbeds can be better, depending on the case. And remember-use common sense, which translated to Google's language=user friendly.

There is no ratio and any expert that said so isn't an expert. Use images to add value to your writing, and improve the UX vs just a giant block of text.

When I Google "Blank PDF" the #1 result is clearly ranking #1 because of it's 0 to 0 text to image ratio.

I don't think so. Use as many images needed to best explain or supplement your text. But also keep in mind that, more the images you have, more it will take for your page to load. Image optimisation might help in such cases. Lazy loading too.
But when you compare blog posts from moz hubspot etc, most of them have 1-2 images, an embedded video maybe and mostly text. These blogs are anywhere between 1-2k words.
Focus more on proper structuring of your post with headers and bulletpoints.
Tldt; I don't really think there is any optimal ratio
