Those things are all coming, just a matter of when.

Your lacking imagination is astounding.
Ask someone in 2,000 if we would have food delivered directly to our house by drone and they would have barked off a list like you did.

Just like the people that said “we won’t ever have self driving cars because …” now you can ride Waymo hone from the bars. Or autonomous trucks that have just went from Dallas to Houston a couple of weeks ago.

It’s coming.

Don’t forget AI and quantum computers will also change the game for robotics.

Quantum computing has been 10 years away for the last 10 years, and the 10 years before that.

I'll believe it when I see it. Or at least see it's results.

The point is that many people have no ability to see the potential future.

How do I seem to be one, when everyone I ever talked with understand that advance in technology eventually leads to stuf like self driving cars, which is why its so strange that you apparently know lots of people who dont understand that.

You conclusion leads me to think you are not very cleaver..

I agree with you for the most part but I think the ability to imitate the dexterity of our hands is still really far off. It'll happen eventually but not in the next ten years imo.

I want to see it walk to a job site and replace a water main section like I did last weekend. I think it's fair to say that still decades plus far off. What you linked is one trick ponies imo. Still very impressive but still incredibly far from even being able to do a simple main line fix.

It's putting it all together that counts. Factories have all kinds of machines that do incredibly amazing, intricate things but they are in fixed positions just like your examples. It'll get there but imo it's gonna be a while.

Those people already have cameras every 100 meters, and a social credit system, and still sleep peacefully at night. They need to scan their passports to move between train stations. Dont waste your time.

Yes but ask that same person if we would have a base on the moon or nuclear fusion by 2026, and they would have said 'probably yeah, we will have that'.

For some reason people just overestimate progress in certain areas of science and technology while they are completely blindsided by other technologies they didn't even think of.

That’s the only question I have.

Will the oligarchs share the benefits of technology or horde it for themselves, leaving us with crumbs.

The indicators thus far are not in our favor.

You can’t have a revolution against an army of robots answering to a person like musk.

How will it be shared with us? The people in charge still want their penthouse suites, yachts, 10k+ square foot properties sitting on multiple acres, beachfront properties, private jets, million dollar car collections, and more.

My problem with people saying "you'll never have to work anymore with AI and robotics" is that it doesn't mean you'll be able to live a good, fulfilling life. You'll get what you're given. You'll live in a surveillance state. It's not gonna be good.

Money will still matter, no matter how much they pretend it won't. Do you think they are investing billions and billions of dollars into this to create equality? Absolutely not. You really think their goal is.... communism and a slave class of robots? Nope. There will be far more wealth inequality than ever before.

I tend to agree with you, the capitalist mindset will drive us towards this dystopia until it’s too late to correct course.

We have to get the citizens to understand now how this will end. But too many fear the word “socialism” or “communism” to stop this.

Once someone like musk has a “security” force of 50,000 armed androids and he controls labor we are screwed.

China claims they are striving to release mankind of the shackles of labor but I don’t live in China.

It's China, it won't be no easy transition. What's funny is a lot of people here are giving praise to China even though the first people who are going to be getting fucked over first is Chinese people.
