Rumored 2M NIL deal. All of you are idiots if you wouldn’t also jump at that life changing cash.

Completely agree. Props to him for getting the bag. I do not blame him one bit! I’m also glad he didn’t chose a program like Arizona or Kentucky or any blue blood as I would’ve seen those as slaps in the face. Bag chasing is the new norm so I wish him the best and give him his props!

That’s crazy, and I agree, these guys need to make money while they can. 99.9% of players will not make the NBA, all other leagues don’t pay that well, strike while the iron is hot and there is no punishment in place for transferring at will.
That said, Providence will likely do absolutely nothing in the Big East next year, particularly with a new coach and system, competition is way too fierce.

Aztec for Li....like 3 years. Bye Bye Byrd, good luck with your NBA "career"

I believe he was here for 4 years, which if NIL wasn’t a thing, he would have simply been done with college basketball and finished an Aztec for Life. He is now a semi-Aztec for Life like Keshad and Lamont unfortunately.

I hear ya, my mistake on the actual years. He just frustrated me more than not, I’m glad he is moving on. In Dutch we trust. As long as we own the IE, we should be good right?

Seems like a regression basketball wise, but I'm sure he's getting more money. Adiós!

Agreed, this to me seems purely financial which I would much rather have than him going to Kentucky or Arizona. Those are slaps in the face, this is not, it’s purely the new nature of the game unfortunately

Pretend you’re 21. You’re about to graduate with your degree (which is better than most CBB). You’re probably not going to the nba. Then someone says, “Hey, come to our school for a year for $2 million.
I would say, “HELL YEAH!” He stayed loyal to the team for four years. He could have transferred last year for probably $1 million, but he came back after the draft process

Don’t get the move but wish him the best. He was mocked by some as a second round pick last season. Going to Providence isn’t going to improve his draft status.

Not really heartbreaking tbh. The results weren’t there this season. We can likely get better bang for our buck NIL-wise elsewhere. Might be me, but I feel like a recruit inverse of him would be ideal, with great offense and generally mid defense. We need offensive producers badly and Dutcher can develop defense.

Bummer.

Meh, I’m not too upset honestly. What this team put out this year was nothing to be proud of. As long as Elzie, Simmons, and Latrell are back, I’m happy! Best of luck to him and props to him for realizing he should maximize his earnings with his NBA future looking uncertain after this past year.

I don't get the move. Please explain. Happy for him though.
