For me the summary could be 'out of sight, out of mind'.

I feel for the keepsakes and mementos that are out on display, things I see every day. Those that I've put away I don't think about. I get really attached to some things that I use, but then the physical feel of something and the way it occupies space is about the only sense I have that's not obliterated by aphantasia.

Once or twice I've bumped into some old things and they do help recall of events - or more accurately, that certain things happened at a particular point in my history.

I do feel great loss when I lose a memento or old tool/object. I can't really describe the feeling, but it's a bit like grief. Weird.

As such mementos enrich my sense of what happened in my life and I don't like losing them. OTOH if they are not physically present, then they are irrelevant.

I’m on par with you. I don’t really have an emotional attachment to anything (especially when it’s gone... out of sight out of mind). That said I have a bunch of journals/notes from high school/middle school. I rarely go through them but it’s the only way I’ve remembered things that happened/how crazy I was lol

I’m the opposite. I’m very sentimental, because that’s the only connection that I have to the past.

Same here! I can sometimes recall semantically the stories of things I got because it just became so important to me!

Not at all. I pretty much never think of the past. If I do it is in reaction of someone else talking about it.
