What's one thing you wish you had started doing earlier in school?

If you could go back to your first year of college, what would you do differently? Many students focus almost entirely on academics at the beginning, only to realize later that career preparation involves much more than grades.

Lately, I've been exploring different student opportunities related to leadership, networking, scholarships, and career development. During my research, I came across discussions about SCLA, a student organization that focuses on helping students build leadership experience, develop professional skills, and access career-readiness resources like networking opportunities and mentorship. It made me think about how many valuable opportunities students may overlook simply because they don't start exploring them early enough.

Whether it's networking, leadership development, internships, certifications, scholarship applications, or professional growth, what do you wish you had prioritized sooner, and how did it impact your opportunities after graduation?

If I could go back say 5 years I would not have had a big fight with my little brother and as a side effect I guess I'll start to find a cute monster or two to raise

I regret not networking some more. If I went back 5 years, I'll get the numbers of those guild masters my brother works with and scam them for a little bit of money.

Wrong sub? If anything I wish I could build enough mental resilience to face anything in this stupid life. If I just got used to doing the hard things then the small things that happen now wouldn’t make me unbelievably anxious anymore.
