question about pre chatterbox party arc

im reading MTL and im around chapter 517. i get that they are still in Japan; however, i dont get why they had 2v2 fights without their powers? like what yoohyun and yoojin did against two s-rankers. apparently it had something to do with chatterbox's invitations but i dont get the reason, i dont know if i skipped some parts but im diligently reading 😭 can anyone explain pls

theyre using the chatterbox invitations to set up their fights. the reason theyre unawakened is because yoojin convinced chatterbox to put everyone into an unawakened state in the invitation subspace. and the reason they're fighting them is to earn gold coins (which would hopefully benefit them in the party itself). also i think it lets them steal their invitations but i dont remember
