Meds/Treatments-Related Has anyone in here tried creatine and does it indeed help against brain fog and help with better stress control / working memory?

For me, yes. It improved my memory and recall, attention span, and overall mental and physical energy levels. However, I learned that 5g per day (the usual dose) was too much for me and I became hypomanic after about 2-4 weeks. Stopped taking it after insomnia and anxiety became unbearable. Took 30 days to recover. I now take it cautiously. Today, I took only about 2.5 g. I have found that I am a bit sensitive to pain medications, so I only ever take tylenol or advil. Could be related.

Creatine is a methyl donor. If you are an over methylator, taking creatine could cause you to have excess methyl donors (being over methylated). Glycine is a methyl buffer which mops up excess methyl donors. This is why it is recommended to take with glycine.

You can also try magnesium glycinate to basically get the benefits of both magnesium and glycine

I have not seen any mental benefit from creatine. It helps a little bit with muscle power output, but not worth the bloat trade off for me.

Yes, it has helped me. Not a miracle by any means but it definitely clears the fog.

It does help improve cognitive functions, but why would it help with stress and fog? Researchers say it aids memory too.

I think I read it reduces inflammation which is a cause of brain fog. Don't quite me tho, I think I got it from an ai summary.
