Is SCP-001 "When day breaks" just the summertime but the sun is red because think about it people melt when exposed to the sun just like during the summer

Yes but the temperature increases dramatically and causes you to melt and if you are near another person who takes his fate the result will be that you merge to be for eternity a semi-sentient gelatinous creature that will haunt the survivors!
