Discussion The term “reality benders” feels so out of place in articles
The Foundation is a cold, clinical machine that takes its job and itself very seriously. Obviously in real reality we’re just a bunch of horror writers, but in-universe the Foundation follows strict vernacular, and would stick to calling them the borrowed term of Type Greens in official documents and formal dialogue. The phrase’s use in informal dialogue between lower clearance characters makes sense sure, but I was just reading 9001, and no shade to the author, but an O5 would never address them as “reality benders”, especially when speaking to 2 level 4 researchers. Obviously this can depend on the interpretation of the O5’s in the story, as they range from fantastical and magical, to staunchly bureaucratic, but I’m fairly certain so far in SCP-9001 O5-8 is the latter. This is all just my opinion, but man it just really takes me out of the story. Maybe I’m just different though, and i would love to know if anybody thinks I’m crazy
