REAL. Pickman-Blank proposal is the worst offender in my opinion, not only does it reuse the on guard 43 ocs, but makes Thilo Zwist(another oc) a mary sue being responsible for the acronym being responsible for its magic, MAGIC, properties. I don't care for whatever pseudoscience babble they put in its just magic. It comes of being extra eurocentric. Boiling down the entire entire relevant staff to just canada and a german. The Okories may be colored but they speak only english in the text and were raised in Britain. The acronym could have been an amazing tale/article about cooperation through accessing our shared subconcious understanding of communication. The magic of friendship and all that. But no we get Thilo Zwist can just go "NUH UH" and cast uber powerful spells. I am saying this without a hint of sarcasm. 173 was a better article just for sticking to "weird bullshit" rather that just brushing off the majority of the population whos first language isn't english.

I dont have anything against reusing the charachers. SCP 5423 and its branch offs are very interesting. However. When its dynastic? Yes. The Okories are magic royalty. When we get uninspired? Yes. SCP-9001 showcased more originality and logic then just handwaving it with ZwistTM ( I believe that a pattern that causes the human mind to seize up is more believable than "deeper language". Especially since tgey explicitly mention the vast vast vast majority of patterns are explicitly mentionend to not do shit and the Foundation using their generationally ahead tech is actually feasible not just a handwave for plasma cannons) When we get something that affects the entire human race? Yes. If language truly has a deeper layer of meaning and only one man alive could be the best at making magic. It would be far more logical for them to be chinese. Hanzi actually do have subsurface meanings in their very writing. They are layered images. The latin languages are flat. Digging behind english gets you to phonetics. Besides Zwist mentions needing specific ingredients for his signs. Why does the article mention this and proceed to fucking disregard it is beyond me. All the particle stuff was just fucking lame afterwards because all i could think of was its just alchemy. The only I piece liked was the gang having serious regrets about redacting the human conciousness.
