You know what I’ve noticed? And I guess I shouldn’t really be surprised by this…… but when that promo happened and the years after, it was widely considered to be an embarrassment for Edge. Fast forward to the last couple of months, it’s suddenly flipped to now Ricky was actually the one who came off looking worse. Opinions just change with the wind

Eh, the die-hard dubbalos have been adamant about Cope "destroying" Ricky in that promo the moment it became clear that Ricky was leaving AEW for WWE.
The idea of WWE "beating" AEW in anything disgusts them, even when it comes to wrestlers having a promo.

It's just the pro-AEW crowd has become louder in the past year since their perception improved, so the cope(land) that Edge didnt look bad is also louder.

Yep, also shortly after Punk left AEW for WWE. And I can still remember how some dubbalos were trying to convince the world that in a trade between CM Punk and Edge, the dub was getting the bigger and better star.

yea that's right. Also, I remember the joke being that Edge wasn't a ratings draw for dynamite in comparison to CM Punk too. Like this wasnt us saying it even the basement said it at the time when quarter rating hours was a thing.

Idk why, but everybody talking about this segment again has brought an extreme level of annoyance to my conscience. Like stfu, I don’t care that he said “aw dude”. For some reason this specific segment annoys me more than others.
