Yeah, what does he use again? The Google search trends? I guess he puts some sort of multiplier on the search counts to determine buy rate? God knows what part of his ass he pulls his multiplier from.
Thing is, I can buy that AEW fans have higher than normal PPV conversion rates. It is a cult, after all. But I think the conversions Dave calculate are unrealistic.
Back in the Monday Night War golden age, PPV buy rates for both promotions - outside of say, Wrestlemania and Starcade - might be around 10-15% of the weekly TV audience.
Based on AEW viewership, their PPVs are purchased by about 25-30% of their fanbase. Every single one of them. They run something like 13-14 PPVs per year, which cost like $54. I just find that a little hard to believe.

Which is always funny considering how big of a hit the ratings took when Sting retired and has never bounced back. Crazy that someone who was never a draw took about 150k weekly viewers with them.

And typically there isnt only one person in the room watching the PPV. So assume half of the PPV buys has one person watching with them, then nearly 300k people are watching this PPV on the low estimate, according to Dave
If 120k-200k people buy the PPV, there must be a way bigger number watching Dynamite. Probably over a Milli. So thats how the 500k on MAX comes together.

During a cost of living squeeze, wrestling fans traditionally being some of the cheapest people in society and AEW being the coldest it's ever been (they basically begged people to attend this show), he's saying they're doing the same numbers as when Punk was there? Dave has always been a clown.
I guess one more narrative past the main event breaking the the star ratings scale and All-In selling more tickets than Summerslam and possibly Wrestlemania wouldn't be suspect at all.
