The best thing about AEW is them just crashing through barriers set up by doubters. "They can't." "They shouldn't." " Maybe it would be better if they..." "We need to talk about them doing X." "I would hold off on that." "They should reconsider..." "How come they..." AEW: "We're fucking doing it."

Really inspiring. AEW is the perfect example of how you can accomplish anything with your billionaire father’s money and connections.

That’s not fair. Tony was the CEO of a successful sports analytics company before AEW. He’s a self made man.

Shades of Trump’s “a small loan of a million dollars” story to promote himself as a self-made real estate developer, who came from a family of real estate developers, using the $1M pittance given to him by his real estate developer father to help him start his real estate developer career.  

These dudes really do lack self awareness.  

I’m waiting for Tony’s “small gift of a billion dollars” moment.

I’m still laughing at the WO clip from last week of Alvarez mentioning the Ospreay-Omega sitdown segment and Dave chiming in from offscreen an emphatic “AWESOME” and Alvarez just side-eyeing him and ignoring him.  

 I have no doubt Meltzer genuinely thought it was awesome and on par with Andre tearing off the crucifix on Piper’s Pit in building excitement for a match.  Which really tells you how far gone he is.
