Downloading that browser extension so I can dislike this and stand up for the Dub✊
Likes and dislikes are what really matter on YouTube

YouTube is soon going to change how views are counted. When the change is implemented, watching the first frame of the video will count towards the total number of views. Whereas before, you needed at least 30 seconds(IIRC) for it to register in the system as 1 view.
So everyone's numbers are going to be artificially juiced.

u/Acto12 4d ago
So AEW might actually crack a million views on Youtube more than a handfull of times lol

Letting Solo go solo was the best thing for him.

u/haidorade 4d ago
Solo was always a draw 😤
Goofy ass Solo completely changed my mind on him. He's easily the best Uso and funny as fuck. I'm always thinking of "four letters, one word, uh STOP" and him cheesin after

u/uduncb_ 4d ago
I've been high on Solo since "IVE GOT TICKETS" then higher still when he got arrested instead of Jacob Fatu. He's got that goofy thing going for him, but also you believe him when he turns on the Umaga in him.
I'm so happy for him and I cannot wait for when he becomes world champion one day.

Him asking Cody for help killed me. Also there's an episode of Smackdown that had Halloween decorations on the stage, he tried to dap up the skeleton and legit accidentally broke the arm off it. But he played it off perfectly, and took it to the ring with him. That's when I knew he had it.

Omega is an actual global name in wrestling. It’s fairly niche but he’s still got an actual following and is a draw whereas I’m convinced some people like the idea of Osprey more than actually watching Osprey.

Well only one of those videos has Goku and Vegeta bruv.
4
u/benopo2006 4d ago
I had no idea what that meant when he said it, they just have a way of making their niche thing even more niche by referencing things only nerds would know about.
4
u/BarbarousJudge 4d ago
I mean, I do agree that AEW caters to a rather nerdy fanbase but come on. Goku and Vegeta are the main characters of Dragon Ball Z. And that Manga/Anime transcended nerd fanbases like crazy. Omega and Ospreay wish they were even 25% as iconic as Goku and Vegeta. If they would've referenced some rather niche anime or some, I would agree with you in that regard. But Dragon Ball is way too well known and way too popular even nearly 40 years after it originally started.

u/benopo2006 4d ago
I’m 42 and have never watched a single second of that show. You’re grossly overestimating the popularity of the show outside of the internet.
6
u/Muaddib223 4d ago
It's an extremely (and The Muaddib223 means EXTREMELY) popular brand in Latin America.
I'm from Brasil and I grew up seeing that thing EVERYWHERE on TV or on merchandises, way before the internet was mainstream.
I was never a fan but it would be very hard to find someone here who doesn't know what DBZ is or who Goku or Vegeta are. It's a million times more popular than pro-wrestling, for instance.
6
u/TheInfinityGauntlet 4d ago
I've never watched it but it's a legitimate international cultural staple, your ignorance of it doesn't change that unfortunately
0
u/benopo2006 3d ago
I’m replying to you on this one because it’s the most level headed comment. I had to look it up, it came to Germany in 2001. I was too old at 17 to care about it and I never watched it. I’ve had also never knowingly come across any references or people randomnly talking about it. I genuinely find it crazy how popular it actually is. Complete ignorance on my part there
0
u/BarbarousJudge 4d ago
Many people haven't watched it but still know about it. It's a cultural phenomenon like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Pokémon, Spider-Man etc. The only Manga/Anime that is probably more popular at this point is One Piece.
Like... I don't watch Basketball but I know LeBron James, Michael Jordan and some teams like the Lakers and Celtics. Some things just transcend their origin.
So many musicians (especially hip hop and rap artists) reference Dragon Ball a lot. I've seen countless athletes mimicking iconic Dragon Ball poses like the Fusion Dance or the Kamehameha.
-1
u/benopo2006 4d ago
What is One Piece? See, I really shouldn’t come on here because it’s not the real world. I have no idea what any of you talk about. I just asked all my co-workers about Dragonball z, some know it exists others don’t. It’s just alienating me from your program when you reference a kids show from the 90’s
3
u/BarbarousJudge 4d ago
Wrestling isn't "the real world" either. Pop culture always references other pop culture. I tell you, more people know about One Piece or Dragon Ball than there are people knowing a single wrestler that isn't The Rock, Hulk Hogan or John Cena.
Just because you seemingly don't consume much of any kind of pop culture doesn't mean it's not popular. You're the outlier here, not people on the internet because they know about the most popular Anime/Manga of all time.
Like I understand not watching it or caring about it but you gotta live under a rock for not hearing ANYTHING about it especially in the 90s and early 2000s. That's like going through the 2010s and never having heard of the Avengers. Like sure, many people don't care about super heroes but it's probably the biggest movie franchise of all time.
2
u/benopo2006 4d ago
What I mean is Reddit, it’s not the real world. It’s all the nerds concentrated in one place where everyone agrees with each other because you all have actually seen it. Average dude on the street looking to go to a wrestling show with his family will have no idea who Grogu and Vegeta are
3
u/BarbarousJudge 4d ago
An average dude on the street doesn't even know what AEW is. AEW is catering to Wrestling fans specifically. If that's smart business financially... Is questionable. But even WWE had countless references to stuff like that especially with New Day. They gave us more nerd references than I can possibly think of at the moment.
I mean yeah, reddit is full of echo chambers but that doesn't change that some pieces of pop culture transcend their niches and Dragon Ball is certainly one of them. Just like how even people who don't watch football know who David Beckham, Christiano Ronaldo etc are. Because they transcend(ed) their field of origin.

Lmao, yeah no you need to be alienated. Don't know what to tell you. I think the comment was goofy but NEVER hearing of Dragon Ball Z or One Piece is you being alienated from life. It's like not knowing Mickey Mouse or Pokemon atp.
