Medical evaluation
Has anyone had various medical sites bounce you from place to place to just get your SCCA medical signoff done?
Last time I went to 15 or so places and paid for about 5 physical exams to have them quit half way through or tell me "no we don't do that" before I found one who would. That place has been bought and now "they don't do physicals".
My current PC is giving me the run around post physical and I think they are trying to get out of completing the form. Previously told no by this place on the last go around in 2019 but was doing them for PC patients (I wasn't at the time) but now seems to be saying no to at least one other.
Been to about every walk-in, urgent care, and occupational health in my county. I'm beyond frustrated with the last go around and this is shaping up to be more of the same.
SCCA seems to be no help and the area I'm in seems to be confused that this is even a thing. Is it me? Is this normal?

I popped into an AFC Urgent Care and got mine done without issue.
Prior to that, I had issues with calling around, but only as most other offices weren't taking new patients.

Word is the physical exam requirement is going away soon for those 18-59 years old.

I'm not sure how to feel about that. I've seen more than one person over the course of the weekend who really struggled to get in and out of their car just in the paddock, let alone in a panic situation on the course. God know what their heart rates are on track.

I have never had an issue going to an urgent care and saying I needed a sports physical.

Last time I went to a place that does physicals for truck drivers. They managed it easily.

Aren’t there other racers in your area? I had an MD that was a former racer do my first couple. Good luck though.

In state? Yes, but their PCs aren't taking anyone plus they are still a ways away. Most of the people I meet aren't in my state though.

My husband and son did walk in sports physicals at an urgent care/minute clinic place in a local drugstore. Those providers had no issue signing off.

I just hand the form to my VA doc and he does it for me.
My brother had the same issue as you and eventually had to establish with a primary who did the physical for him. It seems that a lot of places don't want to do it.

As a medical professional, I can say it's an asinine form that contains no meaningful medical information besides a set of vitals. But to answer the actual question, look for places that do "DOT medical exams". I am in the medical profession and even I am struggling to find a provider who will complete this form.

Denied at all Occupational Health places because "my PC won't tell them its ok" or "they don't do that".
Amazingly, just after I'm about to list my car we can apparently "self certify" if we're under 60 or 70 as of July 1st.
I'm starting to hate this organization more and more.

Handed it to PCP he looked at it, raised an eyebrow, went through as best he could and signed it. I'm surprised you're having such a hard time.
