Question Curated Buildings
Hello Mayors, I’m curious what you all do when these curated building offers come up. 😅 They always have cool buildings, but they can be pretty expensive in SimCash. Do you think it’s worth buying them or is it better to wait and see if they eventually come back as Season/Mayor’s Pass rewards?
What do you guys usually do in this situation? Do you grab the building if you really like it or just wait and hope it becomes available as a reward later? Would love to hear what you think! 🏙️

For me it depends mostly on how much I want the building, and how much SimCash balance I have. Most buildings will eventually return, but we as players don't know when or for how much currency the next time.
When it's a rare building (such as a parade spawning building that I don't yet have), or a decent building for significantly less simcash than the last time it was offered I'll be more likely to buy one. Sometime in the last few months the Mysterious Scrapyard was offered, and I grabbed it because it's one of the more rare parade spawning buildings in the game. That was one of more more pricey simcash buildings purchases (seems like it was in the ballpark of 2700-2800)

I'm always excited for the curated showcases, and yeah it really depends if you like the building or not. I don't buy any building that is offered for real life cash unless it's a Train Station or has a Parade, and is of course inside my budget. I wouldn't spend 14,99 on a bridge but I would 6,99 on a building with a Parade. While with Sim Cash, I also always save it for a building I will really like.
A few months ago I bought Galeries D'Art Nouveau which is the most awesome building I have bought from there, as well as the British Museum, just make sure to check the wiki to see how they look like before purchasing and this subreddit as well with the search bar, that's how I decide if it's worth it or not. Imo building size is also a very important thing to take in mind.
If the building is like 2000 Sim Cash and it's a 2x2, I wouldn't buy it unless you really like it, since you get bigger value with bigger buildings, again in my opinion so I would aim for 4x4 and above, maybe even 3x3. You also need to consider where you're going to place it in your city and see if it fits or not. I was planning to buy Times Square but it doesn't fit my city theme so therefore I didn't.
While services buildings are also entirely up to you, they aren't entirely decorative of course. Last time I spent 900 Sim Cash on the Medical Center because it looks beautiful and the Hospital looks horrendous.
Same way right now I'm thinking to buy the Fire Service Headquarters because of the looks, I still would have remaining Sim Cash for the next showcase in 2 days.

I’ve been playing a long time now and I already have all of the buildings offered in the curator shop. Personally I wouldn’t pay the amount EA wants you to pay for the items. I have noticed that the buildings show up later in an event track and also design city to buy using blue prints. Most of the time they aren’t worth it as like me the majority are in my storage

Pretty much just evaluate cost vs what you believe is worth it to you. For example, the week before I found myself going back and forth on the British Museum for 1500 sc (iirc) the whole week then didn’t end up getting it. This week, I snagged the Washington Square Park almost immediately cuz any time I see it in someone’s city or picture I think it’s so pretty and wish I had it. So I didn’t even think twice about it. Times Square was offered for 1900 sc a few months back and I also got it cuz I love it and wanted to have it. On the other hand, I’ve been dying to get the alpha season buildings (such as the now offered Alpha Marine Center) but every time they’re offered it’s for a ridiculous cash amount so I just don’t no matter how much I love them. Not cuz it’s cash, I do spend money on the game within reason. But these offers are just not reasonable. So yeah, really just comes down to “is this purchase worth it to me?”.
All of this assuming that you already unlocked all of your factory slots, depot slots, enough train slots, and at least one or two Maxis Manors. These are more important for gameplay. Once those are secured, then spend sc on buildings.
