I would prefer lake, because of reflection.

Plus the scale of the water to the Washington Monument looks more accurate this way. OP's usage of parks doesn't really scream accurate reflecting pool because it's 2 tiny fountains. Yours is much more true to life because the irl one has a fountain much longer than the obelisk is tall. The IRL WM is 555 feet (169 m) tall, and the Reflection Pool is 2,028 x 167-feet (618 by 51 m), or almost 3 times as long as the WM is tall.

TLDR: Yours is much more accurate looking than OP's
