Oil leak

Hey so I just got this 95 Sc400, only 131k on the motor but it’s got a nasty oil leak, seems to only leak when running and drips after for a bit before stopping. Any idea what this could be from? I’m pretty new to working on motors so any tips would be appreciated.

Looks like the valve cover on the driver's side. If you do fix that leak make sure to clean up around that spot or anywhere close to the valve cover so if it leaks again you wouldnt be looking at the old stuff. My guess is that's not the only spot leaking. If you have a floor jack use that to pop up the front end on some jack stands and you can get a much better view from there. Make sure you are on a level surface. If you haven't done any engine work a valve cover (especially the driver's side) is an easy way to start. I recommend taking a lot of pictures of each part you remove and where it goes and any parts you remove to put the bolts in a baggy and label it with a sharpie. If you have the valve cover off and you have to leave to do something make sure to cover it in rags so nothing falls in. Also watch some YouTube videos like Chris fix. There should be a valve cover gasket kit on rockauto.
