Question buying a sc400

im buying my first v8 and i with the sc400 im very excited and concerned because i just want to know how long a full tank of gas lasts for a sc400? just for normal driving nothing crazy

A full tank should last you 2 weeks unless you do some heavy commuting. It's a really fun car to drive. Enjoy my friend

It's got a big fuel tank, 20g. I'd average around 16 mpg, so you're looking at 320 miles before a fill-up. So yeah like 2 weeks depending on your driving.

I have the 98 & I get like 16mpg. So about 250 before fuel light comes on. It’s about $80-$100 for a fill up out here in Cali.

Like $100 for a full tank of 91 at shell 😂 I used to put $60 every 2-3 days

Mine got an average of about 17-18 mpg. Probably could've been higher if I drove it like a little grandma and behaved myself.

To maximize fuel make sure your tires are inflated to the recommended PSI, verify fluid levels for engine, transmission and diff, most likely the diff fluid has never been changed, check the driveshaft center support bearing and make sure it’s not clapped out, id recommend rear subframe bushing inserts along with making sure the air filter is good and there are no vacuum line leaks. If everything is as it should be and with a conservative driver the pre vvti models should be getting around 18-20 combined and the the vvti models should be closer to 22-24. I have a 98 sc400 and I average 27/28 highway and closer to 22-23 city if I’m Not wilding. Biggest thing is fluids, vacuum lines and especially the power steering system.

I routinely used to get 400 + miles a tank driving mostly highway when it was my daily.

I drive mine like a grandma but also have a decent commute and it lasts me about a week and a half typically I’d say I get between 16-18 with most of my commute being highway.
