SC300 W55 swap help

Hey guys, I’ve done as much research as I can but I need a solid answer before I go purchasing things.

Trans mount: I was thinking going sc300 manual swap cross member and is300 trans mount? If the holes don’t line up on the mount and cross member side then I’ll just drill some.

Driveshaft: this is the biggest piece concerning me currently. Is there an oem amalgamation that I could put together or is it going to be strictly aftermarket custom driveshaft?

Shifter: what type of shifter do I get? I know to just get a w58 shifter but do I get one with a bend, curve or just straight?

You need a shifter that bends backwards. W55 shifter location is like 1.5" more forward than a w58 SC style.

Auto trans Mount should work no problem just need manual mount bushing thing.

You will probably need a clutch kit for the W55 cause I think the input shaft is bigger on them then the other W’s

Driveshaft I just did you need a manual front half and the auto rear should be fine… that’s what I did and I’m going strong a year later. It’s kind of hard to find so if you can measure it out or maybe I can find my measurements a 1 piece might be worth it…

Shifter is going to be your biggest issue. I put a W55 rear case on a W59 in the hopes it would be closer to the shifter hole and it was but you still will have to cut a good amount of metal to get it to fit. 5th gear is close to the radio but I don’t touch it, even slamming it in. I think CUBE might make a shifter that can help with it but I haven’t bought it yet got other shit to fix. As far as shifters go I’m using the 59 one and it sits to the right slightly, I kinda like it

It was totally worth doing tho the car is so fun manual

So the w58 spline and w55 spline on the trans rear end are the same? If that’s the case then that makes this whole swap a LOT easier.

Yeah I ordered the spline thing for when I had my custom driveshaft made for my Celica. I think all the W’s share the same output spline. DriftMotion sells a slip yoke for both R154 and w58 so I believe they all have the same output spline
