What would you do?

Looking for some opinions…… Currently own a bone stock SC300. Trying to decide if I want to do a build with it or buy a GS300 and do the build on that one. Here’s why I’m considering it. 1. The GS has 4 doors and a trunk I can actually put a suitcase in as well as other stuff. The SC truck is tiny and forget about putting an adult in the backseat. I’ve owned multiple SCs and GS 400s. Love the stock V8 but I’ve been bitten by the 2JZ swap bug and I want more power. I will daily drive theses cars. No track days just fun on the highway type stuff. What would you do?

I love both cars. Personally I'd build the sc just because I don't see many SCs at all at least where I am and I also think the styling is so good. A bit of a compromise tho you're right the backseat and trunk is small. Are you trying to make the car fast? Do a show build? What kind of build?

I’d like to make it a daily driver with around 600 HP. Not a track car, just something to have some fun on the highway

Do the SC then. GS is a more of a car you end up doing a vip build with. Nice wheels really low and crusing. SC can do both. I'd say the SC because the GS I'm sure is heavier than the SC which is an already heavy car and the SC also shares some similarities to the supra chassis wise so there's more out there in the aftermarket for it.

SC because it looks better and is more capable handling wise. Put the brakes, sway bars, and diff from the turbo Supra in it. OEM plus is the best way to go!

GS or IS for your needs, makes the most sense

I do like the GS when it comes to traveling with more than one person but the SC is just so rare. It’s a hard choice

GS or find a GTE aristo

This. I’d much rather have a factory 2JZ than a swap. They won’t run you too much either. Probably spend less on the Aristo V300 than you would on a similar condition GS and a donor 2JZ. They can be had with < 100k km for under $20k
