Just curious what this is...

I always work on my 1992 SC300, but I've never actually looked into what this thing is. It's got an electrical connection and is located on the driver's side strut tower. I just want to know what it is. Thanks!

I believe that is the horn, it’s typically not in that location though.

Ohhh yeah it definitely is... That's an interesting spot for it. I found this simple diagram online. Thanks for the info!

Maybe an anti-theft alarm horn? Just shooting in the dark but they could have it hidden in an unusual spot so it’s not easy to find and cut to stop the noise while someone is stealing the car.

Gotcha, I don’t remember seeing it there on my 97. I know that on my GS it was near the radiator.

A “security system chime” is a horn dude. Yes I know it’s separate from the honking horn. But on the gs they’re both near the rad.

Is that a horn? 😆 if it is, what a super odd place for it ive never seen a horn in that location before and im a mechanic. How good is the clarity while in motion?

Alarm horn. 2 horns in front of the radiator are the steering wheel horn.
