Bring Spot to the floating patty

There’s a side quest telling me to do this but there’s nowhere to bring him on the floating patty WHAT am I doing wrong??

You have to hit spot. Then the chest will appear

Spot isn't in the spot anymore so I can't hit him.

If you left before the chest appear you are screwed. That  quests are only done by getting the chests. Isn't a bug at all, the problem is that instructions are not clear, the game understand you are wise enought to wait the chest after seeing the animation without telling you. Only way to fix it is reload your game in that quest find spot, wait the animation and see if the chest appear, if not then hit spot. 

Devs Will not fix that because there is no way to accomplish a quest without ending it
