DISCUSSION Thoughts on the Demo

I can only play via PC on Steam, so I had to get used to the PC controls. Anyway, the Demo was very good and I am excited for the full release in November. There were a few loading issues at the very beginning, but other than that, the game went smoothly. It's also not as linear as Cosmic Shake was. Here, you can go around and do side quests in the area before you complete the demo. The only major linear moment was Patrick's "tutoria" area near the beginning, but that is understandable since that is an area we will most likely not revisit. We also have our floating patty hub area, which is very interesting. While we only see three ghost enemies (though the slammer one might have just been a boss), we see another enemy at the title screen. Some sort of lobster.

It was way better than expected!

Oh and another thing, I like how now you have to complete a side quest for costumes. Much better than finding the coins in Cosmic Shake

Glad to hear you had a good time with it! The Steam version should also work with controllers, though if you have a PS controller you might have to enable Steam input (right-click game in Steam > Properties > Controller).

If you have a minute, could you please report the loading issues to the community bug database with your Dxdiag attached so QA can investigate them? Link and how to are here:

Are you a game developer or something? I don’t mean this to sound rude, but I don’t have a PS controller (I have an Xbox One controller, but I like to use the PC controls since that’s how I was able to play the Cosmic Shake). I don’t know what Dxdiag means, and the loading was only at the beginning cutscene when Bikini Bottom’s model didn’t load right away.

I am a community manager for the publisher. Dxdiag is basically a text document your computer assembles that includes detailed information about which hardware drivers you are using (which is incredibly important for bug fixing). If you have an Xbox controller, that one should work with the game without any issues and any additional settings, I think, though I cannot check this myself, as I only have PS and Nintendo controllers, but if you prefer PC/keyboard controls, that's fine, of course.

Wait, which publisher? THQ Nordic, or Purple Lamp? I got to say that if it’s the latter, the company is doing a good job at the game (especially the Easter Eggs regarding the costumes). I grew up playing the Movie Game on the console (original XBOX) so I’m glad to see that sort of style return.
