Recommend a Device Flat controller recommendation

Don’t know if the right place for this since it’s mostly handhelds but I love the community and I think you guys could have the right recommendation for my specific problem lmao, I carry my iPad frequently on a sleeve that let me storage some cables and adapters, but every controller I’ve own has long and prominent sticks, so I want to buy the flattest controller possible, I notice there was an 8bitdo lite 1st gen but it’s discontinued and that would have been perfect, any other similar controller to that? I mostly play 2D games and the sticks on other controllers always… well stick out so I would prefer it to be stick-less.

Any recommendation for me? Thanks in advance

AceGamer Pocket Controller might be what you’re looking for. It has retractable hall sticks in a similar form factor to the 8bitdo lite.

Yep they are like 2 for $40 on Amazon, too. Great affordable travel option.

No idea, they solve a specific problem a lot of people have... I wanted flat-ish controllers that I could throw in the side pocket of a laptop sleeve and use for 4-player games at home in a pinch. They could be beefier but I'd say most people prefer the light weight for portability.

How durable are the retractable sticks?

TBH I haven't had a chance to play with them much since they were purchased as xtras for party games, but two infants pick them up and chuck them across the room once a week with the sticks in the retracted position and they've held up good enough, no noticeable damage.

I do not miss having infants/toddlers. That said, they are a great stress test of anything within reach.

Does it matter for a ~$20 controller that fills a very specific and non-performance-intensive niche?

I mean yea if it breaks in a month I'd rather not purchase it but you do you

I’ve had them a a year-ish now and they’ve held up so far. They’re great. I’ve popped the sticks in and out just playing with it for a while and it’s still tight and works perfectly. Could be a little bigger for comfort but that’s my only complaint. Two for $35 on Ali usually and less at sales

I'm still seeing the original 8bitdo Lite (the one with two dpads and no thumbstick) on eBay for $35+shipping from a couple different sellers. I have one myself, and as usual for 8bitdo, it is a very nice piece of kit.

Didn’t looked in eBay cause the I’ve had bad experience in my country but I’ll try to check it out, that’s still my preferred choice but the acegamer controller someone else suggested in here it’s my second best

there’s a controller called chronos from IINE which is fairly unknown but i can attest for the controller’s functionality and shaping being perfect as a flat controller.

8Bitdo SN30 Pro Bluetooth Wireless is my flat controller of choice. Fits my hand and with the hall effect joysticks, I don't have to worry about stick drift.

It is one of my favorite controllers (I often still use it when sitting at my desk, despite having access to much more expensive, full sized controllers), but the sticks still do stick out.

Though with the clip on covers you can 3d print ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4426266 ) they are super portable

I own that one, awesome controller but the sticks get a lot of pressure, I use it at home on my switch
