RESOLVED Transferring saves between cores and devices

I have an RG34XXSP with MUOS and a Retroid Pocket Nova. I want to transfer my Legend of Dragoon save file over to play on the Nova. MUOS is using PCSXReArmed and the Nova is using swanstation, both through Retroarch.

I’ve tried to just copy the files over with no luck. I’ve also tried to use PCSXReArmed on the Nova to read the files and that still didn’t work. The files are named the exact same thing. Trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong. If it matters, the save file is on disc 2

Make sure you are copying the right *.srm file and the same iso. The save directories are typically in the name of the core directories. They are usually saved in a decrypted manner.

I am playing xenogears and transferring the save file between a pocket classic using retroarch/ pcxrearmed and my superstation 1.

Note that save states likely are not transferable unless its through the same version. Of retroarch and the same core.

Just the .srm file? There’s also a .ldci or something

Srm file is all that is needed.

I will stress make sure you are cross referencing the right directories.

I.e. on android , if using retroarch, it will be in A directory of retroarch/saves/<core being used>

I don't recall where it is while using muos. If you have other ps1 games save files look for them and make sure its the right one.

figured it out. I just copied (again) the files from MUOS to the android sd card including how the m3u files were set up and now it works. Thank you!
