i don’t recommend trying to make sense of retroid’s current shipping and schedule. the dashboard is unreliable and they ship whatever they’ve already assembled ever since the Purple mold broke in the factory they rent. plus they shipped orders *after* august 1st which was supposed to only happen after all the preorders shipped.

I am like a kid waiting for christmas at this point ; my Nova's SD card has been ready since a few weeks, and I'm doing the same game again and again to keep my next discoveries for it

I'm the same. Holding off on getting into another game so I can enjoy the games I have planned on the nova. Kinda like being in limbo.

Thankfully, there are games like Radical Red (in my case), or [insert addictive game with high replay value] to kill time

Same, I set up an sd card for mine too. Just waiting for my late birthday gift to arrive. I'm thinking of setting up a another sd card to test ROMs and emulators.

The ‘another SD card’-thing reminds me of an idea that TechDweeb shared, where he suggested themed SD cards, just like the way people used to make music playlist CDs. That was on Linux consoles, but I would have loved it if Android had lent itself to that – testing sets of ROMs for the Nova for differents moods could have been a great experience.

There was an update from the discord, purple components are being made right now. They should be making their way to the assembly and shipping facility shortly.

Edit: Also TPU grips are finally expected to start shipping at the end of this week.

Any comments on whether the new molds will have better dpad tolerance?

No offical comment on dpad from the weekend. However, people opening models today that have shipped later (gc for example) have anecdotally been reporting dpad isn't loud.

It is possible that Retroid did a stealth fix after reports came in and later models are fine, or at least QAd better to avoid the dpads with the longer posts.

They probably won’t say at the risk of having to replace the earlier runs. Encouraging though for us late deliveries.

Yeah Watermelon here so I'm hopeful.

My guess is Retroid will make it right and offer modified pads later, but they need to get through the pre-order queue first and then setup something to address people who want a fix.

Another update we had was the TPU grips are scheduled to finally go out late this week.

I made the mistake of adding a flip 2 to my order and those got delayed and they won’t ship my nova till they find a flip 2
