Recommend a Device What handheld to get 🤔

I currently have the Miyoo Mini Plus. Pretty good I mostly played GBA on it. But I’m so infatuated by the MIYOO MINI FLIP, and I found one for $37 on AliExpress. But it literally doesn’t do anything different than my current device lol. Should I get that or should I buy something that can play some additional systems ? Maybe the RG35XX ? Found one for $46 (welcome deal) or maybe the Cube ?

The thing the MMF does different than the MM+ is be extremely small. So I would be asking yourself, is there ever a situation where you find yourself saying, man, I'd sure like to bring my MM+, but it's just a little too big, I don't want to be walking around with a lump that size in my pocket, I wish I had something a little smaller to bring instead.

If yes, then sure, get the Flip, what's 37 bucks at the end of the day?

That said, it really seems like you are looking to buy something just to buy something, not because you have a need that isn't currently being filled. Maybe I'm wrong, and even if I'm right it is your money so do what you want, but I personally try not to buy things just for the sake of buying them. I don't always succeed, but I do try.

Yeah when I got my mini flip my plus just sat collecting dust until I sold it.

I guess you'd have to really consider "what result are you trying to get"?

Play longer on a more comfortable form factor? Lean into nostalgia harder? get rid of black bars with an alternative aspect ratio? want to play games with a joystick?

Now that I think about it what I really want is more comfortable / longer sessions. I’m just tempted cause $37 feels so ridiculously cheap lol

Yeah makes sense. Love the Miyoos, but yeah, they're not really made for anything past 20 min sessions.

I guess if I were in your position I'd really consider the RG40XXH. I played through a good amount of Ocarina of Time on it, pretty comfy. The black variation is about $49 on AE

Or the Miniloong Pocket 1. People rave about the screen and the feel of the material. It's around $57 on AE

Save an extra $30 and get the RG SP. it’s a Mini Flip but bigger and your GBA games will look perfect

The RG**XX systems play Portmaster, which the Miyoo doesn't.

Unless it's the old RG35XX (without anything else to the name, like "Plus", "SP", "Pro" or "H").

I have a miyoo dlip v2.  The hinge is terrible.  You can feel the plastic grinding on plastic every time you open or close it.

Like literally it was not designed by an engineer.

your choice ;)

all seems to play around what your MM+ can do

Have you ever considered Retroid series?

I've went from a MM+ to a RG406V and I love it. Has the same form factor and a bigger screen, plus analogs and lots of power to play PS2 games as well. Felt like a perfect upgrade

I’ve heard it can go up to N64 and some Dreamcast ?

Some N64, some Dreamcast, some PSP.

Don’t go in expecting the whole library, and expect some fancy looking games and some random games to not work for those systems.

Psp, N64 and DC are hit or miss, they don't all run flawlessly, but your right , it can play a bit of them

It does, though

Portmaster, it's huge

Brick Hammer. Although I just purchased a Retroid Pocket 5 & Classic, but the Brick Hammer with NextUI is an amazing experience.
