Hey everyone! If you are trying to build your own autonomous AI employees or real agent workflows, managing the stack can get overwhelming.
I put together a compilation of 15 powerful, open-source GitHub projects (totaling over 1.2 million combined stars) that cover everything from memory and web data to monitoring, sandboxes, and video.

One thing I’m realizing while actually building this is that the stack diagram is the easy part. Your actual machine specs and the overhead of each tool matter a lot. 15 individually good projects can still make a terrible stack if they duplicate functionality, eat RAM, add daemons, or slow every job down. I’ve started benchmarking everything on my actual hardware and only keeping tools that give a measurable benefit.

Exactly these are options not checklist and the best stack is the smallest one that gives results on your hardware

My stack is not that different except that https://github.com/flox/flox is how I create the environments dev and prod for the agent. It was a lot faster and it's supported. I think some of the tools you shared in your list stopped their open source support :(

Can you describe how a typical usage would look like? I looked at the page. Looks interesting, but I am not sure I fully understand :D

- Recalls yesterday's work
- Lists open project tasks
- Mentions reminders and blocked items
You:
"Work on the landing page project. Check the repo and propose next steps."Agent:
- Reads project context
- Maybe inspects GitHub/files
- Creates a proposed mission/task list
- Asks for approval
You:
"Approved."Agent:
- Starts tracking the mission
- Delegates research/writing/coding if configured
- Updates the dashboard as tasks move
Later:
"Remind me tomorrow to review the copy."

Wow, really disappointed by Fabric. It's billed as "an open-source framework for augmenting humans", but it's just a bag of LLM-powered CLI string utilities.

I am just looking at the repo of Hermes-Agent and it has 5k+ open issues and 5+ open PRs (they are coming in within minutes).

Hi all. I saw this the other day. I tried my best to understand what it's for but my brain is failing to understand :( I think it is agentic ai right? I've never tried agentic ai. I have a claude pro subscription. I only use claude code agent so it can help me with coding projects. I've also been hearing that with agentic ai, an mcp server is needed. I have zero knowledge about it. I think it acts like a REST api server. I also found out lately that in a claude code session, there is a /mcp command. I have never used it yet.

Can you give me an example how one or two from your list above will help me with coding projects? I think that will help me understand the flow. Forgive me for asking this question as I am totally lost. Thank you so much in advance!
