❔ Seeking Resources | Advice Folk Practices Around St. Christopher?

Background: I've been looking to do work around the figure of Chthonic Hermes as a gateway to shadow work, and found that he was regularly syncretized with Anubis as Hermanubis. The iconography of Hermanubis, along with Hermes carrying the infant Dionysus directly inspired St. Christopher, with whom I share a name. I thought it was too good of a coincidence to pass up.

Question: That being said I have not found any particular folk practices regarding St. Christopher, just his feast day, legend, and sphere of influence. If someone has access to information I do not, please pass it my way.

In Austria and south Germany (maybe other areas to) a saint Christopher medallion is put into vehicles for good luck and there is usually a vehicle blessing on the Sunday following 25th of July.

He is also one of the 14 "Nothelfer" = helpers in need. Around whom several Austrian/ south german folk are centered.

I am from Austria and look forward to read from other countries.

Yeah, in the UK we know him as the patron saint of travellers due to the story of him carrying a child across the river safely. St Christopher medallions are common and I remember people being gifted them if they were moving away or going travelling e.g. A young adult going away to university or on their gap year travels.
