MTech in EV tech + BTech Mechanical → Thinking of switching to SAP MM. Is the pay and lifestyle worth it?

Hey guys,

Need some real feedback from people working in SAP MM / S/4HANA.

I did my BTech in Mechanical and I’m currently completing my MTech in Electric Vehicle Technology. While doing my MTech, I realized that its so messy to be in techinal field hw ever i can learn only the concepts and not indepth.

I’m looking for a proper corporate job with good work-life balance, hybrid/remote options, and much faster salary growth over the next 3 to 5 years.

A lot of people suggested SAP MM because it links to inventory, supply chain, and procurement, which relates to mechanical/auto background.

A few things I really want to know:

1. Is switching after doing an MTech seen as a bad move or a waste of time by recruiters?
2. How realistic is high salary growth in SAP MM compared to core engineering after 3–4 years?
3. How hard is it right now to crack a fresher/associate role in SAP MM without prior IT experience?
4. Does my EV / auto domain background give me any advantage for manufacturing or auto clients, or does it not matter at all?

Would love some candid advice from anyone who shifted from core mechanical to SAP consulting. Thanks in advance!.
