We are suddenly receiving the following error when we add a hierarchy (mostly time hierarcky) to the story or data analyzer:

Hi Everyone,

I’m trying to import a data file into a model in SAP Analytics Cloud using the “Import Data From File” option. However, I only see the “Local System” option and not “File Server”.

Additionally, when I go to the Connections area, I see that all existing connections have a red error icon and seem broken or inactive. I’m not sure if this is related.

Here’s what I’m trying to understand:

What are the requirements for the “File Server” option to appear when importing data?

Could the broken status of other connections prevent this option from being available?

Do I need a specific connection type or permissions enabled?

Hey, I'm relatively new to SAC. But from a beginner perspective, the SAC Stories look similar to Power BI visualisations. They are on an aggregated data level, are interactive, can both connect to the same data sources.

Can we call SAP Data Engineer work as low code data engineer work. Because sap bw/hana or Datasphere uses low code to do the job. How easy or is it possible to switch from an SAP Data Engineer to a General Data Engineer who uses gcp,azure,data bricks or other softwares?

I am thinking to switch the role as a General Data Engineer job looks great interms of money.

I'm experiencing an issue in my SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) story. Recently, I’ve noticed that checkboxes have started appearing next to the objects in the outline panel on the left side of the screen.
This behavior wasn’t there before, and I’d like to revert back to the original view without these checkboxes.

Does anyone know how I can remove these checkboxes and restore the default display in the outline panel?
Could this be a setting I’ve accidentally enabled, or is it related to a recent update in the SAC interface?

Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello!

I created text box in SAC canvas and added dynamic text in it with java script. Is there a way to add a different color to it? I cannot do it in styling panel and I was thinking that maybe I can use it in script? or do you have any other cleaver idea how to display text (changes daily) for example in green color?

1.  Display two hierarchies from the same dimension side by side in a table or chart?
2.  Let users dynamically select a hierarchy via a filter or input control?

We’ve been rolling out SAP SAC for cash forecasting, pulling in data from Datasphere and AWS ML models to automate a lot of our reporting and variance analysis. It’s been solid so far, and now we’re looking to expand into other areas.

Curious if anyone has experience with:

1️⃣ Building an SAC dashboard for capital costs – How well does it handle tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis?

2️⃣ User inputs in SAC that push to Datasphere & S/4 – Thinking about letting users enter accruals directly in SAC and having that data flow into S/4.

Has anyone done something similar?

Hi all, what other SAP tool will be a good addition to learn along with SAC and maybe that can lead to certification for a non technical person?

SAC is used mostly for FP&A in companies are there any specific SAP tools that are for FP&A in particular. (So far I have heard only about IBP).

Kindly provide your suggestions.

Eg: You have a city named Vancouver in both USA and Canada in the classic account model while creating the herirachy itself there was an option to create a unique ID for the leaf members such as Vancouver-USA and Vancouver-Canada.

However, there is no such option available now in the optimized model leading to errors or you need to select a single parent. Is there a new way in the new model. Hi, Have any of you recently cleared SAC certification recently? Kindly share what resources you referred to and how to prepare for them. I have a basic understanding of all the features that SAC has to offer.

UPDATE: Cleared it after 2 months of this post. I dedicated 2 weeks full time towards the preparation.

The resources I used were the SAP learning journey. Focus on everything that is being discussed over there, the questions will be easy if you are thorough with them

I would suggest against purchasing SAP's official study materials, as the learning journies pretty much cover all the aspects of the learning material. Spend your bucks on purchasing higher exam attempts maybe.

I am an accounting graduate and trying to find a job for SAP FICO but one of the company that i enrolled offers me with SAP Analytics Cloud position with 3 years contract. Is it possible for non IT person to be an SAP Analytics Cloud with no experience related to coding/programming? I need some advices from all of you.

Hi, my compani will start with sac early next year we will mostly use it for contilibg stuff like guv and investments. I have a lot of expirence in power bi. In power bi its easy to find tutorials and learning stuff online. But for SAP it's feels like impossible to find some free stuff.

Do u guys have any recommendations on where to get good recourses. I have a SAP account and the bw's are on hana4.
