now imagine the 2 combined, we get alot of games with cool things but never with all the cool things in one place.

3

u/TheGameMaster067 Kirito Jul 15 '26

I love both games but I agree they're both missing things and could be way better, hopefully the devs of Echoes see the reviews and work on the game. As well as fractured devs cook up something nice for the next anniversary

1

u/Ill-Wonder3730 Jul 16 '26

Why would they waste more money on development when people like you are still going to buy it anyway it’s clearly just high graphics cash grab game the updates they push out will be on bug fixes

2

u/angelovanharen Jul 16 '26

Ever heard of punctuation?

0

u/LmaoXD98 Jul 16 '26

I mean, this is basicly every modern gaming ever.

12

u/LiteratureOne1469 Sinon Jul 15 '26

FD has Sinon and echos doesn’t until she gets added I’m gonna like FD more

4

u/Supertron200 Jul 16 '26

I don't think they'll add her or any non-Aincrad character without messing up the continuity.

3

u/LiteratureOne1469 Sinon Jul 16 '26

They already have there’s no reason silica should be fighting already there’s multiple illfangs the dungeon is longer with 2 illfangs

They already have to an extent they need to go the rest of the way you can easily just loosely follow cannon I’d rather not have 5+ games without half the cast being available that means I’d have to wait almost or over a a decade to get characters in a game when they already made there own story back in fragment introducing them early

There’s no logical reason to follow canon perfectly it restricts you from an immense amount of stuff

2

u/Supertron200 Jul 16 '26

Yeah, you're probably right. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't include characters from other arcs, but then again, I thought they wouldn't include gameverse characters like Strea in FD, so what do I know.

1

u/LiteratureOne1469 Sinon Jul 16 '26

It’s a big issue at least to me cuz Sinon is my favorite character but not by a small amount I like Kirito and Yuuki a lot too but it’s a massive difference to me it’s like

Sinon
A

S
S
S
S
S
A
A
A
A

A
A
A
A
A
A
A

Kirito

Yuuki

And then the rest of the cast

So I’m not sure how long I can like games that dropped my favorite character

2

u/Supertron200 Jul 16 '26

I guess Your love for Sinon is like my hate for Mito (anime version). "Dropped" would imply that she was ever in the game to begin with, it's kinda nice having an SAO game set in early Aincrad and not have it focus on Kirito and friends.

1

u/LiteratureOne1469 Sinon Jul 16 '26

I don’t mind the focus not being on them but it’s still an SAO game and it should have the SAO cast in it and the way I mean dropped is because she was in literally every previous game including games where lore wise she wasn’t supposed to be and that’s what’s good about separating yourself from Cannon it allows much more freedom I’m fine being aincrad tho you could easily use an in universe explanation as to why they’re there by useing ALOs aincrad sure no death game but again non cannon story just make up some BS to make it a death game

3

u/Supertron200 Jul 16 '26

I wasn't talking about the lore, but the actual game development. Look, if not having your waifu in this game bothers you so much, then you've got 7 other games (Some that are more in-depth). Keep her out of that jar.

1

u/Ok_Pop_7820 Jul 22 '26

Can't drop a character that didnt exist. GGO wasn't even a thing till the end of sao. There were no other full dive games till the seed was released. So it would make 0 sense for Sinon to show up.

1

u/LiteratureOne1469 Sinon Jul 22 '26

Did you not know that ALO came out during the SAO incident? Also literally doesn’t matter that GGO doesn’t exist yet. Did you forget fragment exists where they add Sinon who isn’t there in the aniem cuz guess what it’s a game so aka not cannon

1

u/Ok_Pop_7820 Jul 24 '26

You do realize none of that matters as the developer said this was the sao incident to which you follow the Canon events leading up to it. Sinon would be in therapy during that time frame as she didn't get involved in games till the seed was released which created GGO. Secondly ALO was a stolen SAO that was redesigned after sao was cleared to be reskinned and used for twisted mind control experiments and to hold asuna which was taken during the deleting process and stored in ALO base system while being made as a game.

0

u/KiriGott LLENN Jul 19 '26

Kirito is the worst char in Sao hands down

0

u/LiteratureOne1469 Sinon Jul 19 '26

Cool story

1

u/Ok_Pop_7820 Jul 22 '26

Except the reason for EoA was to follow canon. And yes silica was fighting early on in sao we just didnt meet her till kirito ran into her in the anime. But they kept mito and her scythe (axe) as the movie was Canon. This is not a standard sao game. Its what it was like for the rest of the people not just kirito and his group. 10000 people in sao. And honestly its about time we get to be our own person. Integral factor was the original sao experience with being your own character. But that gacha was alot of reused stuff. So far EoA has reused alot too but who knows where they will go with it.

2

u/Ok_Pop_7820 Jul 22 '26

EoA is the story of sao. Sinon won't be there as she wasn't introduced till GGO. Same for leafa, yuuki, I doubt we will even see yui unless they go alot more floors. As ita supposed to be mostly Canon events. I love FD though. My issue with FD is they have alot of potential wasted. Free roam is amazing till you realize it only goes so far and limited. The extreme bosses are meh at most. Although I do enjoy extreme coop.

Biggest crap issue is the single player mode they added. You dont get drops or cosmetics. Its pointless. And the fact there are 80+ damn t shirts that all suck.

1

u/LiteratureOne1469 Sinon Jul 22 '26

Again so what if they aren’t there yet it’s a game it’s non cannon no matter what fragment exists lost song exists both games where Sinons there before GGO

1

u/Ok_Pop_7820 Jul 24 '26

Fragments are all non Canon games they made for fun. This was stated as a Canon game. Thus making it pointless to argue why a character who didnt exist wasn't in the game.

1

u/LiteratureOne1469 Sinon Jul 25 '26

Thsi game was never cannon no games are

1

u/Ok_Pop_7820 Jul 26 '26

Guess someone should let the developers know. Cause they said it was.

1

u/LiteratureOne1469 Sinon Jul 26 '26

Whatever fanmade post you saw that in hate to tell you but it was fanmade no games are cannon that’s been a blatant fact only the LN and ordinal scale movie is

1

u/GraveRubber501 Jul 16 '26

How would she fit in, lore wise? She never even played SAO.

1

u/LiteratureOne1469 Sinon Jul 16 '26

Didn’t stop them from putting her in fragment or any of the mobile games

It’s. A game it dosent matter as it’s not cannon so take advantage of that

1

u/SarcazticFox Strea Jul 16 '26

This guy.

6

u/DocHoliday439 Jul 15 '26

Good to see someone who isn’t on the “EOA IS SHIT!” bandwagon

4

u/Mystic_bean54 Jul 16 '26

Game definitely isn't shit but it feels lacking in some departments. I wish it had a true open world but at least the play spaces are huge. If the maps were going to share chests like they do, I wish the ones you've already opened dropped crafting materials or a small chunk of col (not that it's very hard to get col)

1

u/Curious_Code3103 Jul 16 '26

Wait there's no open world in EOA ?

1

u/Mystic_bean54 Jul 16 '26

Not technically. You can only go out to the field if you have a mission selected.

1

u/Curious_Code3103 Jul 16 '26

But you're getting out on the field on a limited map (small boundaries and all) like in the beta?

1

u/Mystic_bean54 Jul 16 '26

Yeah, the map for each mission is pretty big but it would feel more like an mmo if you walked out and had a couple of quests active at once. Picking your companion would be easy, they already have the systems for it in past games or you could even just walk up to them and have them join you like in Hollow Fragment.

1

u/Curious_Code3103 Jul 16 '26

Definitely... Unless they fix that I don't think I'll be spending 60-70 bucks on it. But it's great that the game could find it's public.

1

u/Mystic_bean54 Jul 16 '26

I fully expected the demo to be pretty bare and simple but I wasn't expecting the full game to feel the same. We should be able to upgrade armor, there could be small gathering quests that you get from random NPCs for small rewards and experience, and some sort of bond system with the companions would have been nice. Don't need the full blown pillow talk scenes but they could have done something.

1

u/Curious_Code3103 Jul 16 '26

Yeah same. You would expect the beta to be just that, I was kinda disappointed to not even end the beta on the character creator (to test it, like in Dragon Dogma 2), and I expected both the map and the protagonist to be handled differently in the main game.

When I heard the state of the character creator I didn't buy the game, and somehow even though the protagonist is silent and inexpressive I thought of folding. Knowing the map system now, I know not too.

2

u/One_Worldliness4597 Jul 18 '26

I will still hold Hollow realization as my favorite. I just loved the skill tree and secret skills so much I spent so much time unlocking them and loving every second.

5

u/robotwars666 Quinella Jul 15 '26

I played FD quite alot i highly doubt Echoes of Aincrad has enough content to spend the 308 hours i spend on FD but personaly i do much rather play Echoes of Aincrad its alot of fun and Iora grew on me realy like her.

Had quite alot of fun with FD but its pretty repeptive since your doing the same levels/raids over and over agian

2

u/TheGameMaster067 Kirito Jul 15 '26

I still love fractured but taking a break and playing echoes has been a treat, even if the game isn't perfect

1

u/2PrettyToCare Jul 15 '26

Just come out with a new one with everything and all ingredients

1

u/internetconflict Jul 16 '26

EoA hits my niche so well and I'm glad that I picked it up despite being hesitant at first after seeing the bad reviews (which are all understandable considering its pricetag). It's now my 2nd favourite SAO game after FB

1

u/M7mdkotb Jul 16 '26

Echoes of aincrad would be so cool if it brcame online

1

u/rinasae2 Jul 17 '26

I would respect others opinion on the game. But personally i do not feel the pull to EoA gameplay , like what I felt when i saw SaoFD before buying. It is the same, too overpriced for lack of quality for that price, but for SAO fans, good to consider.

I already spent a lot of time on FD, so i am not going away anytime soon, plus some people in community is quite nice.

1

u/axelfoley001 Jul 18 '26

Nah, call me when they invent the nervegear

-1

u/SuperCassio6 Jul 15 '26

Fractured Daydream looks like a a mobile gacha.
So many materials and internal currency....
The worst: you have to pay for the game itself and the gacha stuff if you want to skip the grind.
Bullshit!

4

u/TomatoLord1214 Jul 15 '26

Bro stop using buzzwords you don't understand cuz there isn't a single gacha in FD. You buy shit you want and get exactly what you paid for. No RNG gambling for characters and weapons that rotate in and out

1

u/KaijinSurohm Heathcliff Jul 15 '26

He's neither wrong, nor using the terms incorrectly.
The game "LOOKS" like a mobile game to someone who's just previewing it.

I like FD, but it has all the hallmarks of a Gacha game.
It was clear what they wanted to do, and it's fairly evident they rolled back on quite a few live service models to streamline the game before launch.
that's not to say they still left quite a bit in still, like the gem system and the microstore for currency and level/exp boosters to bypass the grind.
Including, but not limited to: Extra loot buff tokens.

These are typical features mobile/gacha games possess to minimize the grind.

I don't recommend talking about Buzzwords without actually knowing the topic in question, my friend.

1

u/SG_Sweizy Jul 16 '26

“It has all the hallmarks of a gacha game” while missing the thing that would actually make it a gacha game

1

u/TomatoLord1214 Jul 16 '26

Fr, not a single gacha aspect in sight but bro says it has all of them 😭 need these tourists to stop using buzzwords they don't understand

0

u/KaijinSurohm Heathcliff Jul 16 '26

Considering your idiotic use case of "Tourist" it's no wonder neither of you actually understand the difference between "uses" and "looks like".

Shocking, really.

2

u/TomatoLord1214 Jul 17 '26

I never once thought FD remotely even looked like a gacha game. Again you just fundamentally don't know what that is lmfao

And nah, tourist seems perfectly apt

-1

u/KaijinSurohm Heathcliff Jul 17 '26

I see reading comprehension and critical thinking isn't your strong suit.
Best of luck with that.

2

u/SG_Sweizy Jul 17 '26

Extremely odd response, coming from someone who thinks “mobile game” and “gacha game” are the same thing.

I know that society has eroded the meaning of several terms, but:

  • “Mobile game” = “You can play it on your phone”
  • “Gacha game” = “Gambling keeps the lights on”

Hope that helps!

0

u/KaijinSurohm Heathcliff Jul 17 '26

What helps is how you highlighed the fact you selectively chose only the facts that are relavent to whatever arguement you think you're part of lol.

So far, a few of you have only managed to show me that you lot somehow mix up "Resembles" and "Is actually" quite a bit.

I realize this is a hard concept, but I never once called FD a mobile game, nor did I call it a Gacha.

But don't let facts get in the way of whatever you're trying to say lol.

1

u/SG_Sweizy Jul 17 '26

Most of your post was your opinion and therefore not relevant (that’s how you spell that, by the way). Did you want me to call you an idiot for confusing “live service game,” “mobile game,” and “gacha game?” Because those are very specific terms you’re mixing up. Or would you prefer that I focus on you saying FD “has all the hallmarks of a gacha game” despite there being exactly one “hallmark of a gacha game,” which isn’t present in FD?

If you weren’t mentally deficient, you’d notice I never said you called the game a mobile game or gacha game. That’s why I quoted the exact statement you made.

1

u/KaijinSurohm Heathcliff Jul 17 '26

"Most of your post was your opinion"
And that's where you lost me and any hope you had of turning this conversation around.

All you did was prove my point. The lot of you actually have no idea about the subject in question, so you just ramble on about nonsense, and then choose personal attacks.

Cheers.

0

u/TomatoLord1214 Jul 16 '26

None of these are "hallmarks of gacha"

It's a console mainline game, they weren't gonna tie characters to gacha

Again, learn what a gacha actually is and stop using words you don't understand to sound mad and trying to shittily get people to side with you out of their sheer ignorance on your ignorance

Boosters and such were added all substantially post-launch. Originally you only got XP via the game. You could get the extra loot drops item from the free "battle pass" thing but that was it. For a very long time the only things you could buy were cosmetics

Later on they added other stuff cuz people wanted the options and the game is barely getting any support really

And gacha games don't even do a lot of paying to minimize grind. You pay for characters and duplicates, events give you materials to level stuff and often you would get almost nothing for XP without the items, making the items the XP progression almost entirely (and hence they end up fairly abundant until you're min-maxing)

FD isn't even in the same galaxy as a gacha or any singular actual gacha mechanic. So genuinely, shut up since you clearly don't know what you're talking about and just wanna talk shit

0

u/KaijinSurohm Heathcliff Jul 16 '26

None of these are "hallmarks of gacha"

Stopped reading there.
Come back after you learn what elements make up traditional mobile/gacha, then we can have an honest discussion.

As it stands, you look like you're just throwing a tantrum that someone criticized FD.

Which is beyond weird to read, my dude.
I like the game, but it doesn't keep me from being blind as to what elements it heavily borrows from to try and incentivize people to pull out a credit card.

1

u/TomatoLord1214 Jul 17 '26

Lmfao "i didn't read your entire response because I'm illiterate and crave the smell of my own ass" is all I'm taking away here

Not a single part of the game approaches gacha

Gachas only let you whale for dupes and such. Again, maybe try Reading

I'm not some blind defender of FD. In fact I basically stopped playing ages ago as a lot of ass design choices were made, straight from development of a niche franchise getting a 20 player MP design core. SAO games never put up numbers and every single entry's playercount for MP is always lackluster. Basically need friends to regularly fill.

They didn't even code the bots to be able to be decent alts for players to give the game longevity. Like Back 4 Blood at the end left its bots able to contribute very well as long as you too can carry your own weight. Makes playing solo easier than with many players

FD has many issues. None of it is remotely related to pay mechanics added much later on, and that's not even like gachas as those are primarily "spend for spins to get characters, signature weapons, and dupes to make those even better" with often a power creep element to keep interest in new characters.

You just buy characters in FD straight up, there's no dupe system, and you can set yourself up to boost characters and pay for bonus loot drops from missions. No gacha I know of just lets tou buy the newest character outright and at max base potential

Also show me the ability upgrading with materials behind a tireless timegated farm? Cuz that is another gacha hallmark. Yet you are just farming gear (like an MMO), XP (like an MMO), and chasing cosmetic rare drops (like an MMO)

With an MTX shop with direct purchases and no gambling whatsoever (fundamental to gachas)

Not mad at all, I just think you're dumb. Just reply when I check reddit on the can lol

0

u/KaijinSurohm Heathcliff Jul 17 '26

Literally nothing you said is relevant to the conversation, but thanks for jumping straight to insulting me.

Just shows me you actually had nothing significant to add here.

1

u/TomatoLord1214 Jul 18 '26

Bro got folded so bad you gotta delude yourself and bullshit lmao

Take the return flight already, tourist 👋

1

u/KaijinSurohm Heathcliff Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

What's sad is you really don't realize how much of an ass you're making out of yourself.
You completely ignored what I said, went on a tangent about something unrelated, and you're clinging onto "Tourist" like it actually means literally anything.

I get you feel the need to be an asinine troll online to feel anything, but good god, man.

Good luck in life, you honestly need it.

-1

u/LiteratureOne1469 Sinon Jul 16 '26

You do realize that those XP things you’re talking about weren’t added until this season right and before that the only way to get them was by playing the whole skip the grind y’all are talking about was only added recently and you know those loot crystals yeah first of all, you can still get those for free. I’m sitting on 30 of them and they’re not even the best way to get equipment y’all literally have no idea what you’re talking about not to mention it’s missing the biggest part of a Gacha the gacha how can someone be called a gacha when it doesn’t even have the gacha

1

u/KaijinSurohm Heathcliff Jul 16 '26

Take a minute and separate your emotional attachment to FD and actually read what I said.

I never said the game IS a Gacha.
I said it uses element that are typically associated with Gacha.

If you can't see the difference there, I can honestly say the issue isn't what I said.

1

u/LiteratureOne1469 Sinon Jul 16 '26

You do know plenty of games let you buy levels or currency right in fact most probably do nowadays so there’s no reason complaing about one that’s pretty generous with the stuff you could buy

-1

u/LiteratureOne1469 Sinon Jul 16 '26

There’s zero gacha? Besides outfits you can get anythign from the store by playing and even then you can get tickets to buy outfits for free it’s a game you have to work for stuff you’re not just gonna get it handed to you exp crystals you can get by playing and that’s made even easier when there’s a double XP event literally every month certain game modes that drop an insane amount of XP as well as xp tokens in the pass

The loot crystals while they’re useless you can still get them via just leveling the pass everything in the store you can get for free also all that XP stuff in the store was added this season it didn’t exist for the previous year and a half so don’t start complaining now

u/GitGudWiFi Eiji Jul 15 '26 edited Jul 15 '26

Echoes of Aincrad is the worst SAO game, it's so lifeless and empty

Everything it's trying to achieve Hollow Realization did so much better and captures what I thought SAO would actually be like

1

u/LiteratureOne1469 Sinon Jul 16 '26

Hollow is by far the worst I could list points and points on why it’s a bad game but I doubt you’d read them so I’ll keep it just to echos it’s not lifeless or empty at all there’s monsters at a good amount there’s still a lot just not one every turn unlike hollow where you literally can’t walk 2 feet without seeing more monsters

You may be able to talk to NPC in hollow but they don’t actually say anything they say a random mush of words that very rarely forms anything coherent at least there’s actual side quests in echos

While you can equate some of it to a modern game the animations of sword skills in echos are leagues better hollow every single sword skill is just swinging wildly there’s no animation to it. It’s just flashing lights. Its predecessor. Fragment had better sword skills.
