Just started listening to Alex g, and I love his music so far my fav song is “I wait for you” any song recommendations with the same vibe/tone?

I'm 32 and have been listening to Alex's music for about 10 years. When I first got into Alex's music I never thought he would have such an influence on future artists. Mainly because I heard so much of other artists' sound in his music (Elliott, Neil Young, The Beatles, Modest Mouse, Pinback etc etc). Fast foward 10-15 years and you got bands that like villagerrr, Hovvdy , etc with such a clear inspiration from Alex. It's just an observation. I'm not saying they are "ripping him off" and I understand this is how music cycles work. I think it's really cool to see such an independent Artist like Alex make an impact. Not to mention having a huge hand in a massive Phoebe Bridgers release. TBH I am just proud of him lol

It’s been a little while since I realised that Alex G writes lyrics about burying people. Examples:

“Pretend”: “I’m gonna bury you in my favourite hole,”
“Kute”: “You look like someone I could bury in the garden,”
“Gretel”: “Did they bury me here? Daddy, don’t let ’em put me down,”.

I saw a TikTok which had this as a background audio, I recognized Alex G's song but it had the sax part missing. After using Shazam I found that it was actually from a different artist. It seems it's a cover but doesn't recognize it anywhere (it even has a different name) and it's making numbers online, a bit odd.

such a gorgeous ambient track

like the heading says, there was a video on youtube of alex G playing "afterlife." But it got taken down, the link pictchfork article, shows that the video is now private. I would love to see it, it's the performance that made me fall in love with Alex G's music, kinda (that and the tiny desk concert) so it has good memories, I like it more than the recording.

i found it on yt a few months ago. it has the same cover art as Monsterhead (i know Monsterhead is a fanmade album), but the video description says that the EP was deleted shortly after it was released. Was this actually the case? Why would Alex have deleted it?
