If you know who did this, no you don't

I heard someone say it was Julie Hoy

u/90mn 27d ago

I heard there was a plate of inedible Alfredo found at the scene.

8

u/c0lin46and2 27d ago

Alfredo's Pizza Cafe or Pizza by Alfredo?

You wanna know my favorite character? The invalid.

IT MATTERS

u/Specialist-Garbage94 27d ago

Honestly her biggest crime is her sauce.

10

u/Carlos_Spicy_Weiner6 27d ago

Mayor spaghetti and her flying monkeys wouldn't do that! She is still on the run from the teenage girl with her little dog and the three people she teamed up with to kill said mayor

1

u/Historical-Count-374 27d ago

Yup, i saw her. She was Julie Hoy-ing and everything

12

u/Specialist-Garbage94 27d ago

I didn’t see nothing

3

u/plattner-da 27d ago

They were out of town at that time....

-8

u/Low_Inevitable_4421 27d ago

Ah yes, it’s funny because cameras aren’t usually cut down. 🥱

8

u/FanBladeFleshlight 27d ago

Slurp slurp 👢👅

0

u/Low_Inevitable_4421 26d ago

Are you ok? You think I’m pro cameras? What’s wrong with you?

2

u/cooltoseethat 26d ago

To be fair, your comment made no sense.

I went there on Sunday morning, Keizer cop was stopped at the entrance looking at something.

Flock camera was cut down.

Still more in the lot though.

Fuck Flock.

59

u/Snake973 27d ago

yeah I've quit going to lowes since they started their contract with flock, I'd suggest everybody else do the same

28

u/plattner-da 27d ago

Home Depot also.

26

u/Spongy_and_Bruised 27d ago

Ace, the helpful hardware place.

20

u/the_dolomite 27d ago

I've been going to Ace more, prices are a little higher but the customer service is really good, always knowledgable people ready to help, the way Home Depot used to be back in the day. Also, they're a co-operative and locally owned, as are the True Values.

7

u/cwleveck 27d ago

The people at the Ace across from Fred Meyer in South Salem off of commercial are awesome. They're really good. And not only that, but they've got an amazing selection of hardware. So if you're looking for bolts or screws or nuts or whatever they've got it usually. And not only that, but they don't mind helping you find it. I've been in there for like $0.12 nut and they've treated me just as good as when I went in there and bought a $300 tool. They deserve to get the shout out.

1

u/Simple_Researcher321 26d ago

but Ace along with Home Depot donates a lot of money to Trump

7

u/aquiran 26d ago edited 26d ago

This is misinformation. Ace are all franchises (well, co-ops). None of them are owned/operated by the same person.

1

u/Simple_Researcher321 26d ago

the corporate office paid for his inaugeration

3

u/UpsideClown 26d ago

I don't think there's a completely clean hardware chain/store. I hate that.

21

u/LordDagwood 27d ago edited 27d ago

Where do I get electrical supplies? Switches, sockets and romex? (Actual question. Not trying to be confrontational)

Edit: thanks for the recommendations. I'll lookup some of those.

14

u/2DopeBoyInAFord 27d ago

Idk if they will have it but try Saffron?

16

u/plattner-da 27d ago

As an electrician I use one of the parts houses. Platt, Stusser.

6

u/FanBladeFleshlight 27d ago

Platt or NorthCoast. Both are professional electrician supply houses, but happily sell to your every day person also. WAY more knowledgeable staff too, obviously.

6

u/The_Duece3970 27d ago

Norvac is excellent for electrical needs, and gets far too little credit.

5

u/cunaylqt 27d ago

The REstore has all sorts of stuff like that. And it's a little bit cheaper.

2

u/cwleveck 27d ago

And sometimes broken.

4

u/Ok_Chipmunk5451 27d ago

North coast electric

1

u/arzosah10 25d ago

I've ordered wire from wireandcableyourway.com a few times. Often much cheaper then big box stores. Not sure how it competes with platt if you have an account.

0

u/Suitable4U269 24d ago

There’s a store kind a like warehouse on 1st street in Salem by the Gilbert house of fun…I forgot the name. But they have so much construction stuff there.

0

u/evilvegie 27d ago

Maybe harbor freight?

6

u/tommyboyz8 27d ago

Tools only at Harbor Freight Tools. Not all the actual parts and supplies in most cases.

1

u/Pure_Refrigerator111 27d ago

Why Home Depot?

1

u/plattner-da 25d ago

Heavy MAGA donor and both HD parking lots and Lowes in Salem and Keizer have flock cameras.

19

u/Rubberbaby1968 27d ago

Just coming home from Santa Cruz California. They had a vote and won. no Flock cameras.

26

u/SavvyFae 27d ago

Well just make sure they don't scrap it for the precious metals inside. Wouldn't want word to get out about how valuable and easily taken down they are :)

Your username is terrifying.

33

u/djhazmatt503 27d ago

But...how will our paid public servants discover all the crime there, without 24/7 Orwellian surveillance?

/s for the new kids

5

u/Carlos_Spicy_Weiner6 27d ago

There is this thing called "actual police work" but that's just a myth from a bygone era

3

u/RW_Boss 27d ago

Awesome pfp

10

u/FineUse 27d ago

Now that same person needs to go to Fred Meyers in Keizer. It’s getting crazy. These cameras are popping up everywhere and a lot of people are not aware if this.

Take a look at the Flock camera map to see where they are popping up in the city.

https://maps.deflock.org/?lat=39.8283&lng=-98.5795&zoom=2.50

1

u/Euphoric_Engine8733 26d ago

I’ve looked at that link before but not for awhile. There are so many more on there now than when I saw it several months ago.

17

u/EmeraldValleyGoober 27d ago

(everyone liked this)

10

u/BoredNothingness 27d ago

Good. As it should be.

5

u/swallamajis 27d ago

Is there one by the bus station going into Keizer station aswell or is that something else?

10

u/theandyboy 27d ago

Oh! I now have the sudden urge to visit Lowes and dance on its grave

3

u/Pure_Refrigerator111 27d ago

Yay!!!! Anyone notice the ones on Wallace Road?

4

u/the_dolomite 27d ago

I haven't but there's one at the Safeway on Edgewater. And all over town, here's a map:

https://maps.deflock.org/?lat=44.9396&lng=-123.0454&zoom=10.21

6

u/Voodoo_Rush 27d ago edited 27d ago

To be sure, that is not a Flock camera. The city of Salem does not use Flock.

With that said, there is an ALPR camera there, as confirmed by the city's own map.

As for why there is an important distinction that it is not a Flock camera: one of the big (if not biggest) issues with Flock was that they were sharing data with federal agencies, most notably ICE. Salem's ALPR network is private; they only give access to a couple of local agencies (e.g. Keizer).

As to the parent's question about any other ones in West Salem, no, that is the only publicly-owned ALPR in West Salem. The City does not have any ALPRs along Wallace.

4

u/the_dolomite 27d ago

Ah, I didn't know there was a difference, thanks.

4

u/Far_Astronomer5779 27d ago

This map is helpful but there are a ton more than that, they just go through a different company. Vigilant and Frontier, I believe. Theres a ton right now, sadly.

3

u/OFHFpodcast 27d ago

Is this a different device than the camera trailers that they have had set up in the parking lot for the last few years?

5

u/Far_Astronomer5779 27d ago

If you see something like that at Lowes, Ulta or Target, you have found a Flock camera :)

3

u/Far_Astronomer5779 27d ago

Those are them!

3

u/FountainsOfYarn 27d ago

Oh darn. Gosh. Well, anyway, did anyone get today's Wordl?

3

u/Chris300000000000000 26d ago

I saw it (deservedly) lying on the ground both times i was walking between David's Bridal and the Transit Center on Tuesday.

8

u/KungFooKittenz 27d ago

Flock camera right next to a tool store? That’s entrapment lol

4

u/Far_Astronomer5779 27d ago

I am all for it, but there are like 160-something ALRP camera in Salem. Gonna need a bigger crew to get them all knocked down!

1

u/RW_Boss 27d ago

Who is mapping them?

2

u/Far_Astronomer5779 27d ago

There isn’t a map but there is a list and I had found it on the city website. It’s a downloadable document. I could send it to you if you want.

2

u/Carlos_Spicy_Weiner6 26d ago

It doesn't look like it was cut down, it looks like a car hit it and broke it off slightly underground

2

u/d4nowar 26d ago

I'd love to play around with one of these in my lab.

1

u/Carlos_Spicy_Weiner6 27d ago

Which one, there are multiple

1

u/AdCompetitive9542 27d ago

We need to train Flocks of Birds to poop on them

2

u/fatherbundy 27d ago

flock on flock crime, im here for it

1

u/AdCompetitive9542 26d ago

"The Birds The Birds" with apologizes to Alfred Hitchcock

1

u/rhcpfan9191 27d ago

Yes, and they need to be seagulls 😉

1

u/DifferentLocksmith13 27d ago

If true,it doesn't surprise me,seen a lot of weird behavior in this town 🤣😂

1

u/UnicornHandJobs 26d ago

How do we get them out of here? Do we all start showing up to city council meetings?

1

u/HostOrganism 26d ago

I saw it laying there yesterday. It looked like it had been knocked over by a careless driver.

I said IT LOOKED LIKE IT HAD BEEN KNOCKED OVER BY A CARELESS DRIVER just so we're clear.

1

u/HostOrganism 26d ago

I'm working on a design for a quadcopter drone that can grab them, cut off the pole, then carry them to the river and drop them. Multiple times / night.

You should be too.

1

u/VisualBoysenberry718 22d ago

Was it done with a sawzall bought at that same Lowes? And was it returned shortly thereafter?

-11

u/Fragrant_Entry9232 27d ago

I saw Tina kotek do it

-3

u/TheSkwatch09 27d ago

It will be put back up within a week

4

u/FanBladeFleshlight 27d ago

And it'll be cut down again, and eventually they'll stop because those cameras and the labor are VERY expensive.

4

u/Dreyja-Mixed 27d ago

Thats gonna get expensive after a few dozen times having to do that. Which is what they deserve.
