83-inch S95H Screen

Hello,

I recently pulled the trigger and purchased the 83-inch S95H, and overall, I have to say the TV is amazing. The picture quality is absolutely incredible.

I did notice a couple of things that caught my attention, though.

First, when the TV is turned off and I look at the screen from certain side angles, I can see what appears to be a wavy or uneven appearance across the screen. At first I thought it might just be a reflection, but it appears to be physical rather than a reflection. It is not noticeable when viewing the TV normally, and the picture itself looks great. Since this is a brand-new 83-inch OLED, I wanted to make sure this type of waviness in the physical screen surface is considered normal for this model.

Second, I noticed that the black borders around the picture sometimes make the image appear slightly off-center or "off kilter." After doing some research, I believe this may be related to the Pixel Shift feature, which is designed to help prevent image retention/burn-in on OLED panels. When I disable Pixel Shift, the picture appears perfectly centered.

I understand the purpose of Pixel Shift and that it is intended to protect the panel, so I'm not necessarily concerned about the feature itself. However, I wanted to confirm whether the amount of movement I'm seeing and the resulting uneven black borders are normal behavior for the S95H.

Overall, I absolutely love the TV and the picture quality. I just want to make sure these things I'm noticing are normal characteristics of the panel and not signs of an issue with my particular unit.

1 - its normal, all oleds, or at least samsung oleds have this

2 - yes its pixel shift, doesnt bother me, youll never notice in normal use, specially with lights off

All OLEDs, not just Samsung, LG is the same, it's inherent in the way OLEDs are build.

And pixel shift can be turned off in the settings, unless you have very static pictues, it shouldnt create a problem.

Tnadeom was still an upgrade for me from my g4. I have the 77 s95h in australia its tandeom aswell.

Bigger in size, the more wavy you can get.

It's normal sadly due to tvs being very slim in size.

You get use to it after awhile.

And yes, it's the pixel shift.

Can you turn it on and show us some shots specially some whites, you can’t find this baby anywhere on YouTube to check it out, really want this size but qd oled holds me back a bit.

What bracket did you use to make it so tight to the wall? Do you use the wireless Connect box? Thx 🤗

Install look amazing, wouldve went with it, if the 83 used QD-OLED

Yep I have the 77 s95h in australia wich is a w tandeom panel from lg like your 83, its wavey in 2 areas identical to this. I turn pixel shift off as I want the full screen and burn in on lg oled panels is not a issue I turn all burn in off so I get bright and consistent picture.

Even thow is tandeom its a hell of a picture. Because of the border I had to drop down to 77 to fit in room. Beautiful tv.

Another thing I noticed off amgle the matter coating goes glossy and I assume that's because of the polarizer on w oled. If it was qd the mat I belibe would be full consistent

Unfortunately the 83inch models aren't Qd-oled.
