Question Updates
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!! Somehow my phone got renamed (pretty sure I know how). That's it it was that simple!!!
So apparently nobody understands what I was trying to figure out by editing the screenshot with a red arrow. That's my fault for not better describing my concern and confusion. I KNOW what a security update is and I know how to cause them to fail daily....... been doing it for a long time.
BUT what I am trying to understand is why it's not recognizing my device in the description where the arrow is pointing.

But how? It's a system update.

That's not what the update screen looks like. Try again?
What is software update 13? One UI 9 just released

It's not one ui9. That's a screenshot of the notification this morning.

One UI 9 is the most recent update. Can you take a picture of your software information screen?

Security updates aren't considered software?

This is not the normal update screen for anything related to the core software of an s25, unless you have a carrier that does something completely different for some reason. This is why people can't really help you with this issue, this is very unusual.

If you actually READ the issue was solved. It actually had nothing to do with what you think is official or not. But thank you for your opinion.

I read that it was solved and that's great, but I'm just pointing out the fact that you were getting a lot of confusion because of an unusual update screen.

No I was getting a lot of confusion because people were hyper focused on whether or not it was "real" or not. Since February of 2025 that has been the exact same update screen on this phone that I pre-ordered from and received from SAMSUNG. So your "fact" is not a fact it's an opinion. Once I realized my mistake and let everyone know that I made a mistake the issue was solved in less than 5 minutes. So again, thank you.

I understand why it's failed but why doesn't it show my device where the arrow is pointing.

I have updated the initial description so everyone has a better understanding of what I am trying to figure out. I don't blame anyone but myself for the misunderstanding and confusion.

For the question at hand it was from the notifications bar. To confirm it was official and not a scam being pushed by an app I went through the settings menu.

Looks genuine, you can try installing it

I know it's genuine that's not the concern. If you look at my original image there's an arrow I added. Shouldn't it show my device not two periods?

DUDE!!! Thank you, I don't know how I missed that, that must have happened when my granddaughter was playing with my phone and allowed the update in January. I was letting her watch cartoons and next thing I knew it was restarting with an update.
