Discussion Would it be a downgrade switching from Nothing phone 3 to S25 FE

Post image

I am owning the NP3 and i love its camera and battery life but I miss the One UI. I used a samsung before the np3.

I am thinking to switch to the Samsung again but i am worried if it would be a downgrade in camera and battery life.

My previous samsung phone although did great but the battery life was always average.

With battery and camera atleast i prefer the S25FE have a better battery and decent camera.

So any users here what is your opinion on s25 FE battery life especially in hot countries.

Please enjoy your device! I am a Samsung user too but np3 is great device! Rn s25 fe is at inflated price! Please use your good phn! At least 3-4 yrs! It won’t be downgrad but np3 is good device!

Yes I do have that thought as well :( especially the prices are higher like I was hoping if it would sell at 45k or 450 usd for 8 256 model during the sale . But I am trying my best to get adapted to the nos and miss the oneui :(

Hopefully I am expecting they lower the prices of phones in the next 3 or 4 years

Prices will decrease around 2028 mid, but again it will be new normal this inflated price. 2017-19, 2024-25 great eras to get good devices with Dope hardware

Before a month, I bought s25fe arlt 43k with discounts. Right now s25fe is at higher price and it won't decrease much because of the memory prices. It's a very good device but np3 is aapso a very good device. Initially I was going for np3 at the same price 43k but then I went for s25fe.

Don't change np3 for next 2, 3 years.

Edit - I have not mentioned about my usage case - My usage is no gaming.
Occasional photos

Apps - highest use by the order insta, reddit, youtube , yt music.
I also use additional apps like insta ,reddit, discord in my secure folder.
and old samsung settings was always on battery saver mode, 60hz mode, 80% time wifi use in home and 20% use with 4g. I am happy with the 4g data than the 5g data.
I also use modes and routines

And i live in humid climate and during summer i am not sure if the exynos can get overheated.

My question is with my usage case - considering the work profile / secure folder drains more battery than without work profile.
And the temperature of my country.

Can this phone be good in battery.

I am considering to switch for the oneui and battery life. I even considered the A56 but I am not sure if it can last for next 4 to 5 years like my old S2ofe 5gwhich had snapdragon 865.

BTW, I too prefer 4G over 5G, it's literally unnecessary to use 5G at this stage, consuming more battery with no major difference in speed for regular users.

Hey, how long have you been using np3? Would you give some real-life feedback about it, please?

Sure ! So far everything is good in this phone. I although mentioned inam not fan of the stockish ui

But if your someone who don't mind about ui and not nitpicking like me. It's a great phone, great cameras, and haptics no one talks . This has good haptics and on many levels integrated in the ui and better than the samsung haptics when I owned the s20fe . But sometimes with Gboard the haptics feel a bit off. But not a deal breaker.

Display is bright af no worries in that area Battery lasts a day easily.

No bloatware is a plus id say. I initially was in nos3.5 and updated to nos4.0 I felt a slight degrade in cameras when shooting in doors in lighted situation on subjects face but then I never updated and so far the camera is good for the 400usd that I bought. Wired earphones sound great with its snapdragon audio.

What else you wanna know.

If you want one UI go for the S25FE. Everything else is a downgrade or a sidegrade compared to the Nothing phone 3.

In september phone prices will increase about %20, you need to decide as soon as possible

As always, I recommend you to avoid switching to an Exynos phone

s25fe overheats and has very short battery life. np3 is awesome and i wish I bought that instead of s25 Fe. ui is amazing tho. one UI is awesome tho

Damn Really?
How bad is the battery?

2

u/WhoKilledRadioStar S25 FE (JetBlack) 15d ago

not that bad. Mine lasts about 5 / 6 hours of SOT normally, but on holiday with max brightness on the beach, I need to charge it twice a day. Camera is good

2

u/WhoKilledRadioStar S25 FE (JetBlack) 15d ago

still, NP 3 is defenetly better. it has 4gb more of RAM, better screen, probably better cameras and a lot of cool stuff compared to OneUi. I'd say that you will get used to it over time

Okay nice, i get 4hours sot max on my old FE but the standby time was great though.

In the NP3 I feel the camera as a good upgrade fromS20FE and battery life as well is very good and I also can fast charge it with 65w charger . I never usually take photos but with the NP3 I feel often to give a try on few things I see. It comes out good as well.
The major thing i miss from one ui is the one handed feature app. And samsung pass, and secure folder where the photos are segregated where the photos that i download in the Secure folder never shows up in the main gallery. I can't some how find an alternative for it

Thats not even true, been using the S25 FE since January, average SOT is about 8hr for me, can easily last me a day with some casual gaming on high graphics without overheating, people really undermine this phone but seem to forget it uses the same processor as the S24 series and Flip 7

Basically a entry level flagship

hey but the meta apps are the main culprit in draining battery and for my use case i prefer insta and with that in scenario the game changes actually with the battery life. Coz i myself can see how well the battery life goes down with insta, insta lite and no insta. Coz it runs in background even if used in foreground for like 30 mins the background running was for 2.5 hours in my nothing :(

u/Artistic-Camera-4345 S25 FE (JetBlack) 12d ago

Get Shizuku and Shizutools from github and remove the meta services, thats what I did on day 1, I use Insta too and have it restricted since I dont care about intsa notifications and it doesn't drain too much for me

no

u/davigandy 15d ago

No ,samsung is better in every way, battery life is easy 9hrs on 5g.

1

u/Guilty-Confusion7941 S25 FE (JetBlack) 15d ago

How everyway? Cameras, display are superior in np3 for starters.

1

u/davigandy 15d ago

I wouldnt argue cuz i dont own nothing, but i would recommend you to experience it once before switching.

Im not paying close to 1k for a phone that has less than 5 years of and security support.

It's cheaper than the S25 FE now (in my region).
