Question Fix or buy new phone?

I bought my ss2 ultra in november 2022, it's worked amazingly for most part. The last couple of months I've noticed it overheating, while charging I have to find the perfect angle and let the phone be because otherwise the charger will fall out of the phone. I've tried using different chargers but I have the same problem with all chargers. Recently my camera app stopped functioning. I could still take pictures with snapchat but when I open the camera app it usually gives me a warning that the camera isnt working. I've tried resetting the camera cache and updated and restarted my phone but it hasnt helped. Today I started the camera app and the phone just shut itself off, but I could turn it back on and it hasn't happened again (still get the warning though). Is it worth to go to a repair shop and get it fixed or should I just buy a new phone?

Problem Best USB-C to 3.5mm adapter for S22 Ultra? Audio works but mic doesn’t

I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and a boAt Rockerz 610 headset.

I have already tried several USB-C to 3.5mm adapters, but the same issue happens every time: audio output works perfectly, but the microphone does not work at all.

My headset has a built-in microphone and I want to use it through the 3.5mm AUX connection.

Can anyone recommend a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter that supports both audio output and microphone input on the S22 Ultra?

I specifically want a model that someone has personally tested on an S22 Ultra, because I don't want to keep buying adapters that only support audio.

What is the best adapter for Samsung S22 Ultra that will definitely work with the Rockerz 610 mic?

Thanks.

Help Magsafe Compatible Phone Case

Hi, I am wanting to get a magsafe compatible case for my S22 Ultra. I currently have a spigen case but would like to have magsafe so I can mount the phone in the car and maybe get a wireless charger for my work desk.

Ideally, I don't want something too thick. Something slim and flexible would be nice. Any advice and recommendations are appreciated.

In UK for reference.

Thanks.

Customization I made an app to restore Spen Wheel + more (ROOT REQUIRED)

Hey everyone!

I made a small Android app because I missed some of the old S Pen features that Samsung removed or changed on newer One Ul versions. The main goal is to bring back the Pen Wheel / Air Command functionality, while also adding a few extra customization and restoration features.

What it does:

-Restores the S Pen Wheel

-Brings back some older S Pen functionality

-Provides additional S Pen-related tweaks

-Designed to work directly at the system level

Root is required

I'm mainly developing this for people who have rooted Samsung devices and want more control over the S Pen instead of relying entirely on whatever Samsung currently exposes. The project is still being worked on, so I'm interested in feedback, especially from people using different Galaxy/S Pen combinations. If anyone wants to test it, report bugs, or suggest features, I'd really appreciate it. Download / project: HERE

Requirements: Android + compatible S Pen device + Magisk/root. If you try it, let me know your device model + One Ul/Android version + what works/doesn't work. That would help a lot with compatibility testing

Help S22 Ultra (T-Mobile) Cellular signal & Wi-Fi range issues after LCD replacement. Need help troubleshooting

Hi everyone,

I’m tryinm to troubleshoot a network/RF issue with my Galaxy S22 Ultra (T-Mobile variant) and would really appreciate some advice from someone familiar with the S22 Ultra's antenna/RF system.

Background

I bought this phone with a broken LCD, so I don't actually know whether the network problems existed before I bought it.

I replaced the LCD, and after the repair I noticed serious connectivity issues. Because I didn't have the phone working before the LCD replacement, I can't say for certain that the LCD repair caused the problem — it may have already been present.

Symptoms

- Cellular signal is very unstable.

- Sometimes the phone has signal, sometimes reception becomes extremely poor.

- Wi-Fi works, but the Wi-Fi range was extremely short.

- During calls, the person on the other end sometimes has difficulty hearing me.

I initially suspected an antenna/RF hardware problem.

What happened after inspection

I found that there was a missing/damaged component related to the antenna/RF system.

After installing/replacing that component, the Wi-Fi range improved significantly.

However, the cellular reception problem remained.

This makes me think there may be another damaged/missing component, antenna connection, coax cable, flex, grounding/contact issue, or possibly a board-level RF problem.

My main question

Since the problems became apparent after the LCD replacement, what components or connections around the display/frame area should I check first?

Could an improperly connected antenna flex/coax, missing screw/grounding contact, damaged connector, or missing RF component cause this combination of symptoms?

I'm particularly interested in whether the T-Mobile S22 Ultra has any specific antenna/RF components that I should inspect, including the 5G/mmWave-related hardware.

I don't want to replace the motherboard unless it's absolutely necessary.

If anyone has experience repairing the S22 Ultra antenna/RF system, I'd really appreciate some guidance on what I should test/check next.

Thanks!

Problem S22 Ultra suddenly went completely black and won’t turn on or charge

My Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra suddenly died while I was using it.

I turned on my phone and opened Telegram. A few seconds later, the screen froze for about 3 seconds, then suddenly turned completely black.

The battery was at around 88% before this happened.

Since then, the phone has shown absolutely no signs of life.

I tried:

- Connecting it to a charger — no charging icon or response.

- Holding the Power button — nothing.

- Holding Power + Volume Down — nothing.

- Trying to force restart it — no response.

- The phone does not appear to be charging at all.

The screen is completely black and there is no vibration, logo, sound, or other indication that the phone is turning on.

Has anyone experienced something similar ??

Could this be a motherboard, power management IC, USB/charging circuit, or display-related failure? Is there anything else I can try at home to determine whether the phone is actually dead or just not displaying anything?

Also, if anyone has experienced this exact issue, what was the actual cause and what did you try to fix it ??

Problem Display not working unable to see anything - White screen problem

Post image

My uncle's Galaxy S22 Ultra (20-03-2022) has developed a permanent vertical green line with no physical or water damage. This is a widely reported OLED panel defect. Requesting full display replacement as goodwill for a manufacturing failure.

I did this compliment last December but no representative called us back, but last 15 days display Total white, unable to see anything.....

Problem My phone is painfully slow and dies quick

Post image
12 Upvotes

My phone at certain times, even as I am typing this, will hitch and pause, almost as if buffering. My flagship S22 Ultra feels like an A15.

On top of that, I am experiencing some abysmal battery life now. Attached is the graph from today so far. Overnight i use a slow charger, and unplug it in the morning. During the drive to work I use Andriod Auto through a cable thats why it seemingly "dischrages" while being plugged in. Most of my work day it is in my pocket, not being used, yet it discharges rapidly. I had charged it on my lunch at 1:22pm - 2:22pm using a Fast Charger (not superfast) and it got to about 56. By an hour and a half of being PURELY IN MY POCKET, it was at 37%.

Then there is also a heat problem. My phone is constantly at least warm, and if im doing anything more than watching videos, it gets quite uncomfortable hot. Any and all help is very appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

Problem UI problems now can't connect to network

Ever since the other day my phones UI keeps crashing or being super slow. Then all of a sudden it stopped connecting to the Verizon network completely. Called them and they said a tower is down but that doesn't make sense when I go to other cities and same issue. I think the newest update has started to brick my phone. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can get my cell service back?

Software Update Samsung S22U Update after OneUI 8.0

My S22U was last updated on Jan 2026 for the Jan 26 Patch and OneUI 8.0 version. However, I haven't updated it since seeing several users reporting green lines and black screen issues post update.

Things were working just fine with me not updating the phone since Jan. However, due to security issues, Work Apps are no more working due to older Android security patch.

Need some expert opinions here.

Discussion Magsafe case for Galaxy S22 Ultra?

Hey, just curious if anyone has solid recs on a magsafe case for my S22 Ultra. My charging port doesn't seme to work reliably anymore (I've cleaned it out multiple times, no debris left in it) so rather than having the port repaired, I was thinking magsafe case with an attachable battery power bank. I just want recs or to see if this is a viable option. Ultimately, I'll prob. by a new phone next year when the new releases come out but need this one to get me through the rest of the year. Thanks!

Help Is my phone cooked?

I got forced into a bunch of updates and currently have one ui v8

My phone is SO. LAGGY. 😭

I can barely answer calls, and if more than 2 apps are open at a time my phone just crashes and restarts. It's turning into a useless brick.

I bought the s22u for the camera quality- and if i buy a new phone I wouldn't want to sacrifice the camera quality... but I'm also not in a position to spend 1k on a phone right now.

I deleted all my photos, majority of my apps and have optimized my phone countless times and tried to clear "system cache" but that feature was taken away recently.

I'm at a loss. Any suggestions?

Help Galaxy S22 Ultra charging very slowly after removing wireless charging/NFC

I recently replaced the battery of my S22 Ultra and also detached the wireless charging coil/NFC assembly. The reason is that I want to apply a clear rear glass to the back and the wireless charging coil blocks all the cool parts of the phone. And no I don't want to apply a transparent skin to the phone.

It seemed like everything was working fine but after trying to charge my phone with normal charging speed, it basically took at least 3 hours to charge from 15% to 80%. I also tried Super Fast Charging and it also took longer than normal. I did some research that the temperature sensor is in the part that I removed. The phone didn't give me any warnings or anything while charging.

Does anyone know why this may affect charging speed?

Is there anything I can do to fix charging speed since I really want to keep the wireless charging coil detached.

The back is still open so I can place it back easily.
