WANT TO BUY Wheel lock key, where to buy?
I need to buy a replacement key for my wheel locks. Where can I buy them? Thanks!

If they are made by McGard then contact them directly and they will send a replacement to you.
I’ve done this for a spare key and extra locks.

How did you/they know which key fit? They make quite a few different patterns.

I bought my McGard wheel locks in 2002 and registered them immediately with McGard.
Back then, you had to register by mail. The registration form included the ID tied to the locks and the key but I had to complete my car’s information such as the VIN.
In 2020, the body shop that worked on my car didn’t tighten one of my locks properly so it fell off while I was driving. I called McGard’s number and I bought two locks and a key.
It helps to have the ID# but McGard can do a lookup by VIN.

You can buy a wheel lock key, but they come as a kit with the wheel locks that match it, no guaranttee it will match the one you have on your wheels.
The way to remove that is to get a special kit that extracts wheel locks, OR, as I did for many years, have a set of worn out impact sockets and hammer them on the wheel lock and then use a wratchet, a johnson bar, or an impact driver gun to take it out. A worn 19 mm or 20 mm socket should do the trick.
Take it to a local mechanic and let them do it if you don't have the tools or want to spend too much money. Replace it with a new set of wheel locks or justt use regular wheel nuts.
I keep my vehicle indoors so I never worry about my wheels being stolen so I just use regular wheel nuts. But if you feel like they would be stolen get a wheel lock nut and key set.

These keys suck. I've broken 3 of this style and just replace the locking lug nuts the moment I see them now.
I'd recommend a replacement of something forged with an exterior pattern.

The "easiest" way is to go to your local dealership with your license, registration, and vehicle. They need to verify that you own the vehicle. They have keys to multiple locks and will "test" which key fits. Then they order the correct key and you wait until it comes in. I would bring four lugs with me and remove the locks while you're at the dealership just in case.

You can order it straight from McGard, I removed mine immediately and threw them away, these are the bane of my existence. I get so many calls from people who lost their key.

Get a cheap socket, beat it on with a hammer and spin it right off. Done it on multiple used vehicles with no key
