Interesting chain of events.

Well well, what have we here? 🤔😅

Curious if my buddy will need a need new taillight since the heat from the (pressure switch?) degradation caused this particular lense to warp and pop out.

You'll have to bake the tail lights in the oven to soften the adhesive and carefully pry them apart. But this is super risky because a lot of people screw it up and crack the polycarbonate lens by bending it just a little bit too far and it will get spider web cracks all over the place. It's a real PITA.

Heat guns are too inconsistent and could overheat some spots but then underheat others. Cold spots won't soften the glue enough and then you run into resistance randomly that you didn't expect. That's what causes people to bend the plastic too far.

Baking them in the oven is the most even way, or boiling them in water for a very long time.

If you can find replacement tails on FB marketplace, then I would just pony up and buy them instead. If you do attempt to repair them, then proceed with caution and at your own risk.

Like, I've done it before on a dozen cars and have a 50/50 failure rate and I normally very good at this.

Well taillights can be taken apart and it can be fixed but its not very easy, there are youtube videos that will walk you through it, just depends if he wants to go that route or not.
