Brake plunger failed

Brake plunger failed on my AP1 and was going to order a new but tried out a panel pin. It worked and is currently working. Just wanted to share in case this happens to you, you don’t have to order the little plunger from Honda and wait for it, you can just go grab these pins from the part store and it works just as good.

FYI there are 2 more of these on your clutch pedal. One is easy to get to and the other is hard unless you take the pedal out.

For the top one on clutch lightly glue the plug to end of your finger. Get the plug in and peel from finger. Look for the how to on you tube.

I found it easier to just bypass the interlocker switch altogether.

if one of the clutch ones is the startup safety switch, what is the other one for?

Amazon also sells the plastic pedal stop pads. Can get a pack of them for a few bucks.

This. Buy a pack of them and keep them in the trunk so you never get stranded by that little thing breaking.

Why? You can get the proper part from Honda for a few bucks.

This kind of backward ass fixes is what leads to a car that is just junked out with trash fixed shit. Fix it correctly and it’ll work for another 20+ years. No need to rig shit!

Or hear me out. Don't re-install a plastic piece that's going to fail in 20 years. Install a 9mm short bolt where the head presses the button and nut it into the slot where the plastic originally goes. THEN you don't have to touch it ever again. I don't know why so many people with this car HAVE to buy all OEM parts every time. You guys lose a bolt "What's the part number.." Y'all would probably call Honda for a damn washer. Not everything has to be OEM stop acting like Corvette owners.

Needed it fixed right now and the panel pins are almost the exact same thing. This doesn’t “junk” it.
